Can't get fur research quest.

I've completed the "What's up with the carpets?" quest about 20 times now.  Sometimes, I do it after deleting the record of it.  Sometimes, I do it twice in a row.  Sometimes I say yes to it, sometimes I say no to it then end up doing it anyway.  Sometimes I wait, sometimes I don't.  But for all these attempts and all the waiting, I still haven't been able to get the fur research quest from Brintec that I've been told should be there.


Is this a known bug, an unknown bug, or not a bug at all?

I stood there for easily 30 minutes spamming him for " i need a quest" with no joy so gave up then i returned a couple of days later and got it 1st time of asking.I believe from reading other threads here it can be time specific so as he doesn't give it all the time.

Same for me. Whatever I do, he doesn't give me the fur quest since months, even trying multiple times per week.

Edit: I've also tryed with an alt and got 5 carpet quests only. No fur's.

Same Here.  Deleted it back in early March because I couldn't figure it out and haven't been able to get again it since.  Tried multiple different times of day (at least once per hour), tried getting it right after a friend had finished it (to check for limited player lockout).  Tried doing almost every quest related to it over and over and over ad infinitum.  Fortunately I helped out a few others that were able to get it and one of them got it twice and gave me their quest reward.  Still would be a nice accomplishment to add to my list though... Any info would be great.

Same goes for me... I deleted it a while ago and now he doesn't give it to me anymore...
Same story with the ancient sword quest... got it a while ago, then discarded it and now I can only get the first quest and most of the time no quest at all.
Looks like a bug to me...

I cannot get it either.  Tried doing the carpet quest 5 times in a row once.  ( made a few tria off it tho especially with the new macro )
Is it still in the game?

No bug there at all as far as I know, I've managed to get it after a few hours of trying ... it is a rare quest though

What do you mean "after a few hours of trying", and what do you mean by rare?  How can a quest be rare?


I've tried with three different characters, I've tried two different computers, I've tried it after others have been offered it without accepting it.... you're saying that I have to stand there and just keep trying?

I also have not been able to get Brintecs fur research quest. I have been trying to get the quest for several days and have even done his carpet quest multiple times but he refuses to give me the fur quest. I have spammed him for 15 minutes with "give me a quest" and he still doesn't give it to me.  I have also done many quests in between talking to Brintec and finishing his quest. I guess Brintec just doesn't like me . As for timing with quests, I have had some NPC's give me a hard time but nowhere near as hard a time Brintec is giving me with getting this quest.

I have checked the fur research.
This quest is still availible for everyone.
I am getting this quest regularly, when i try it.
I have checked it my my GM-char and my normal character, without GM-powers.

Have you discarded all quests that you have not completed?
When you have a quests are running, that has one of the same NPC's involved, then
the new quest gets locked and you won't get it.

I am also having the same problem with Trasok. Trasok will never give me the ancient sword quest no matter what i do. I have done his tefusang teeth quest perhaps 10 times and have waited for days sometimes and he still will not give me the ancient sword quest.

I think it must just be a very rare quest.

The first time I got it, I was brand new just trying to make some tria by redoing the blue carpet quest a few times (and I promptly traded my reward for a nice ss)
After learnig the skills to use the reward a few weeks ago, I tried to get the quest again. Must have tried a dozens times each time I was online, to no avail.  Then last week, out of the blue, on the first try, Brintec gave it to me (because I had worked for him before, he said).
Maybe I got it because I was past the frustration point of not getting it, and was just trying to get it for fun?

I've reduced the 'rarity' of it, and also of the Trasok Ancient sword quest which had the same problem.
