Nintendo Wii, what do you think?

Nintendo Wii's console is the most original of the up-coming three. I mean it's true that Sony's PS3 and the XBOX360 have great visuals and physics but honestly gaming is just stagnating. I think all 3 have great games but if I were to choose one, I'd probably go with Nintendo's console. Already there are great games unveiled (Red Steel, Tony Hawk, Sports, Zelda, Spider-Man 3 [YEAH] and perhaps even a Star Wars lightsaber battle game). Also imagine the games that could be created/ported to the console. I'm thinking here TES IV: Oblivion- using the remote to cast spells as a staff or wand or to throw punches... 
It has a great potential and it must be used... I'm two thumbs up for Weeeeee!  :thumbup:

I saw this demo where the player could actually fight with a sword using the 3d localizing technique used in the Wii controller. Realistic swordfighting in a game is so cool I would buy the Wii just for that. It's also cool you can now make real headshots!

XBOX 360 = All graphics, barely any good games. (Good game = good gamplay and story. Halo does not fall in this category)
PS3 = Expensive, more like a PC than a console. I'd rather buy a PC. No great upcoming games as far as I can see.
Wii = Not cutting edge graphics, but a original controller, promising games with some great gameplay. Cheap!

Wii gets the thumbs up for me!

I agree with Xordan. Also, about Wii's hardware, I read on IGN about this game developped for the console which is supporsed to have advanced physics... I hope there wont be a big difference between Nintendo's and Sony and Microsoft's GPUs and CPUs. The hardware specs of the machine haven't been released yet!

I don't love the versatility.
I don't care about the revolutionary controls.
I don't care about the pixels.
I don't care about Mario/Mariocart/Samus/Kirby/Fox McCloud/MarioTennis/MarioWHATEVER

I want my damn Zelda. Now gimme. >:(

If I remember correctly it was Nintendo that said games should be shorter and less complex.

And for that, I will never support them.

Also...Oblivion is a horrible game.  I'm sorry, but I just had to say that after having to watch my 3 roommates play it for the last few months..

I think the Wii is going to be just what Nintendo needs... a successful project to keep them alive... and thats what I think the Wii will be.  If it did nothing else then the backwards compatability I would still buy it.  And a possible FF game coming out on the console? Im sold.. Screw Microsoft and Sony...

I do have to agree, although I've ignored any statistics about the console wars for the first time in a while.

Nintendo formally dropping out of the console wars was a good move.

I can't remember they said that.
They did say that game developers should try new things to improve gameplay, to innovate instead of bringing out a game only with better graphics.
And I love 'em for it.

By "if I remember correctly" I pretty much meant I'm 99% certain they did and, thanks to google, found that yes...they did in fact say that...so yeah.  Can you honestly say you support that?
