Krylos... worth it?
« on: June 28, 2006, 10:26:00 pm »
So, as i understand it, they are not allowed to wear heavy armor, yet they are supposed to be able to glide / breathe under water. Normally, I'd take that kind of trade off, as I'm not much for grinding fights, but if swimming doesn't work, and gliding doesn't work, why should i pick such a weak char? Anyone who has / is playing a Krylos, let me know!

in the not so far distant future.... they will be able to, and I know some pretty strong klyros XD

and a good leather armor skill suffices.

from what i hear, most people arent looking at the current benfits of a klyros, but rather the long-term benefits such as gliding and swimming. would you rather have a newb swimmer/glider or a char that youve played with your whole game career glider/swimmer?

Isn't heavy armor not implemented either? If it isn't, no trade off at all.
Talamir - DeT, Dark Empire, etc, etc, etc.

The new version might contain it as chainmail armours are ready, don't know about the code/scripts though, I guess we'll see!  :)

As the inpeding wipe looms over our heads, I dont think that the future abilities really count. My opinion is the Klyros are a great base for the RPing character. Sure you can select a stronger race, and I for one have, but there are so many possibilities with that race it is an aluring choice.

just my two trias. :)

There is no heavy armor yet - we still have to code in medium armor :) Leather is Light, Chainmail is Medium, and Plate is Heavy. Either way, people pick whatever race they pick right now because they just look cool ;)

You don't need two threads to discuss the same exact topic...  :(

The potential!! I mean, if one could body develop their wings, and become a taxi service... or an areial acrobat... or glide and dive style fishermen.... THE POTENTIAL!!

Plus, they look just disturbing enough!

Edit: The other topic is about swimming etc. this is about the Krylos as a whole.

Klyros don't have extended flight, they aren't nearly strong enough. They will only glide, or fly for just a few seconds. So being a taxi service is just out of the question :)

I know that, but isn't there body development or something? I think I read about it, but it might just be human-types. I dunno. I'd hope to be able to work him out a bit, at least to be able to carry someone breifly... or course, then EVERYONE would want to be a krylos... :)

Body Development is for increasing your HP.

not if every klyros dies from one hit with a longsword :)
