currupt patch and the updater wont work

i got the message from DaveG so i did what he said and when i got to the patch i downloaded it and it wont upen the patch or extract it it says currupt

Try redownloading it.  Sometimes things just get corrupted durng the sending process.

ok i did it again it says the compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrrpt

In various threads here, I find that you post that you are in various different stages of working with the patch. In one thread you say that you extracted everything successfuly and even overwrote old files in your PS directory, and now this. I'm a little confused.

Regardless...

What are you using to open the .zip? WinZip? WinRar? Something else?

i have been using WinZip then i was told to use WinRar but i cant so at the moment im not using anything but im going to get WinZip now

What problems do you have with WinRar? I'd really recommend it over WinZip, but it's okay in the end. But you -need- one of them to open the .zip.

i just got WinZip and i got it to extract and now im updating now hopfully it wont say im using the wrong version at the login screen

ok now i cant update anyways it halts it and says the server is out of date

nope i cant run the game i get that thing that says somthing unexpected happened and asks me if i want to save the diagnostic file

I gave you a direct link to the .exe you needed, how can you "not find the free trial" ?? 
I give up! 

And also: It's nice that you make lots of threads and PM people around for help, but Keep you questions about the patch to one thread only to prevent confusion.
Technically your doublethreading/spamming and Karyuu could remove 'em all, and how would that help you?

now i dont even get that it closes instantly and then it goes to a report to windows thing so LARAGORN told me i should post this and it should help somone help me fix it some how

biruno i "think" that happened to me does it close on the first loading screen just b4 it starts loading. if it does uninstall delete files and reinstall so all of this dont just reinstall like u did last time. extract the patch and try to get in without updater then if that works try updater.

I too followed the instructions given in the sticky main post: update on updating the updater.

I uninstalled the game, then reinstalled.
Then I d/loaded & unzipped the patch to the PS file.
Then I found:
...the game still says "U R not running the correct version of PS" (I have 03015)
...setup now won't work
...updater won't work

the patch d/load was corrupted a lot, but repeating will get the same result I would think.

Frankly, as I am not computer savvy to start with & new to this game aswell, then waited days for the new version of the game & then even longer for the server to start up, then to play for 2 days, only to get all this trouble, I am just about ready to give up on this whole bloody game....

I know you're experiencing a lot of frustration, but you're not the one who has to hold your head between your hands and go 'Ohgodohgod what is this bug and how do I fix it and the dozen other issues that need immediate attention'. This is a game in early alpha development, and stability is not guaranteed. We all deal with it as best as we can.

When you extracted the patch files into your main PS directory, did you overwrite? Did all of them get extracted? Did you make sure that no psclient.exe or anything similar was running in your processes when you were patching?
