Cannot connect to server
« on: July 17, 2006, 04:43:27 pm »
Hi,

I'm using (or trying to use) PS on a Ubuntu Dapper. Installation and update via updater worked, so far no problems with my nvidia drivers. I have been trying to connect several times and alway get a "Server failed", so maybe there's something wrong...
The server laanx.fragnetics.com seems to be up with about 80 people logged in, but connection to port 7777 is alway refused. Btw, there's no iptables or router blocking incoming traffic on port 7777. I was not able to find a solution to my problem using the "search"-function. Any ideas, suggestions how to get connected ???

Have you waited, while the client tries to connect to the sever?
I know it sounds silly, but when i connect, I always get a "Failed" and i have to wait a little before it actually connects.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I have waited for half an hour, but he still fails to connect. But I found another problem. Even though I thought I downlaoded the 3.015-Version for linux, it displays version 3.014 in the upper left, maybe I should fix that first  ;)

The new version is 0.3.015b. You will need that one to be able to connect to the server (or you have to compile the client yourself)

You can get it via:  wget -c http://xrl.us/pslinux315b   (or another download program that is able to continue interrupted downloads)
