Either the server was down for a bit, or you need to configure your router, proxy, or firewall to allow you to play the game.

Read here to see if/when the server is/was down.  If the stats pane shows no players or a signifigantly out of date report, then it's down.  Read here to get the info needed to configure your computer's network stuffs.

I can not connect to the server. I try to ping the server from the update page and it says that "server didn't respond" Also in the program is says that the server is unavalable.  There are people on the server, so it is up an running.  I use the Windows Firewall and configured it to the UDP and for port 7777.  I also have a Motorola SBG900 router.This it how I set it up:

I have not ever had to set up a port before, and with the settings past the port range I chose because that is what the other ones showed.  I know that is not my ISP, I have also instaled Furcadia and could not connect to its server, but it had a tool that set up the Port for me and has worked since I ran it.

I have been working on this for hours and would appreciate the help of getting it to work. Thank you for all that you do.

I also wanted to add that I downloded and Instaled PlaneShifter Crystal Blue 0.3.015 and that I instaled the patch addon 015patch, but not the updates.  Evertime I instal the updates, I get the error Exception_Access_Violation (I have clean reinstaled the program 2 times, instaling the patch before the updates) and the game starts as long as I don't instal the updates. I am running Windows XP.  Please let me know if you could use more information.  Thank you.

The setting I was tring to set for the port was Port Triggurs, but now I have read it is the Port Fowarding I should be setting up.  That one asks for:

I tried the custom, http, and DNS on the Templet, for the name I put UDP, I have also tried Laanx for the name, port start and end as 7777 and I entered my IP address and I staill cant get a responce from the server.

I turned off the Router firewall and now it connects to the server but I would like to keep the firewall and use the port fowarding.  Thank you.

I am still unable to play the game, it says it requires the updates, I will continue to try to get them to work, but I have to reinstal the software every time I try, because after one failer, I start to get the message that the updater has experinced an error and needs to close every time I open it.

I fixed the update issue, I downloaded the patch to my desktop and it was unziping the files to the desktop, I changed the directory to C:\Program Files\PlaneShift Crystal Blue and the updates were able to instal
