Desk Lamps

Hello everyone.

Today I was walking down the street when I came upon a desk lamp in the road. I pick up this desk lamp and suddenly 10 cop cars pull up and they arrest me. Turns out the police are setting up these Desk Lamp theft sting operations all over the US and in Parts of Mexico and Canada, so I urge anyone not to steal desk lamps these days. If you REALLY want to steal them then watch your back.

Thanks for the warning, luckily I don\'t think the cops here have resorted to such a low down method of entrapping would be criminals - have they no shame?

In my fairly limited experience desk lamps can get too hot anyway. I don\'t think I would be tempted too easily - unless it was a particularly splendid lamp.

Well done for a useful and constructive start to a new forum.

That was my toaster!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr, they confinscated it because they said it was stolen.

I heard the same thing happened to Kevin Mitnick.

hey link, this stuff has been going around a long time, the same thing happened to my parents about 20 years ago, cept it involved planted shrubs in some businesses front lawn...

Ok let me says how the hell can a cop arrest you for moving a desk lamp of the road??   I am glad I am not a Garbage man cuz I would get arrested at every stop!!!!!
A desk lamp in the middle of the road creates a hazard for cars so just say to the police I was moving it off the road so cars would not hit it and cause a crash.

I live in sweden, so I don\'t have any problems at all with the cops. You can hit a cop in the head with a crowbar, and they can do nothing because they may not \"hurt\" the nice man of violence, because if they do, they get in jail :D
