Problem with Thorian(NPC)

I am doing the Thorian's shield quest...


I gave Harnquist 30 tria and he repaired the shield but now Thorian won't take it back... it tells me he doesen't need it ... I'm sure it got repaired by Harnquist but why do I get that red message when I try to give it back if that's what I have to do to finnish the quest...


Also: Thorian won't answer me even when I use the new communiacation system... (Hello, Thorian) (Thorian hello)

Perhaps you have taken a bit too long with the quest, and it timed out? Do you have any other quests at all unfinished as well? If yes to the second, discard every but the Shield quest, and try giving it to him again. If this is the only quest you have, then discard it and get it from Thorian again - except this time you technically should have the finished item to give back to him, so you'll be saving time.

Not all NPCs have been converted to the new NPC chat system yet, so if you can't get Thorian's attention, you'll have to wait a bit. Just a bit though :}

Wait, quests have time limits? That's annoying. Although I admit it is realistic. Still, some quests are really hard to solve quickly because of how hard they are... you need to find someone who knows the answer.

I don't think it's a real "feature", but rather just something that currently happens.

The thing is that I have no ther quests... also I had gone to him on the same day that I got the quest but he "didn't need that" it really is annoying I made a new character and was hoping to get some money for this quest to help start this character of...

Ah, quests often have a "lock-out" period - so that the NPCs don't give them out one after another all the time. If you come back some time later, Thorian may have a quest available for you again.

He is not the only NPC with an easy task for you, though :} (And Hydlaa isn't the only city.) There are some other very easy quests you can do.

ok sure I want to do other quests but... How am I supposed to if the only NPC that answers me with this silly new system is Harnquist???   

(excuse my bitterness about this chat system... but it has only given me problems so far)

How do you tell Harnquist to repair the shield? Do you give it to him or do you ask him?

I am new at this game and I haven't yet learned how to interact with NPC's...
