1. The talking window is extremely awkward. 6 different screens makes it very difficult to communicate in a timely way. All text should stream in in the lower left corner, and custom color coded and filtered to the player's desires.
The only screen that matters is the main screen. The rest of the screens deal with OOC dialogues and so are in a different category of less immediate importance.
I don't really agree to that... Example:
- You are on Main screen, but trying to get some training from a NPC. If you don't have enough Money, it will only be displayed on Systems screen. If you know that, its easy to switch to the appropriate screen. But if you'r a noob - as i am, and everyone was - you _don't_ know. So you wonder an do not know if it worked or not - especially as a noob doesn't know how it looks like when it works
- You were talking to a NPC and forgot to change back to Main screen - So you don't realize when somebody wants to speak to you - which won't encourage people to do so, as you may be considered as unattentive or even impolite
That would really be easier if you had a Main screen where everything is displayed and to have the possibility to swich the different channels on and off. Then everyone is free to define what is interesting for him and what isn't...
And i, too would appreciate the option to display local chat as floating text over people's head, as it makes it easier to see which character is actually speaking, and not which "name" is...
And it makes it easier to realize that someone is actually speaking - I got adressed quite some times at the beginning without realizing it, because I had accidentally disabled the chat screen or was busy with myself and this made me very sorry for that person - especially if i could have helped him...
And, _please_, add something like a "world" channel, where everyone can talk with everyone, which would lead to less noob questions asked at the same time but in different places and would show all noobs that there are many people playing this game and chatting and asking questions. Is it much easier to take part in an existing discussion than start one by oneself and it makes it much easier to integrate in the community...
I hope I did not go too far away from the original post...
