2) I ask for real comparison. What i can say about critical hits IMHO are hits which end fight. Otherwise it is not critical. So this basically means you want to end the combat increasing the luck factor. Two guys fight, their HP slowly decrease and all of sudden, BAM, deadman.
1) This sounds like critical hit, which somehow did not kill. In theory you could hit your opponent, so that he start bleeding, but will be still able to fight. Although i imagine such hits not as bleeding, but psychology effect. You managed to puch your opponent to deep defensive by for example hurting him in not a direct sword-body way, but still causing pain.
3) A fight is mainly a serie of blocking and parrying, so if something is likely to happen after a block, is another block and at this time the HPs are dropping. Although considering that after one block there is a chance for breaking through opponent defence this chance is rising with every block. So, each another blocked hit could deal more and more damage. It is first have 1% chance for 1% increased damage, 10th 10% chance for 10& increased damage. Of course if a dodge will happen in beatwen, it seems right, that the bonuses goes back to zero.
After a while, HPs ends and one of the warriors gets badly wounded and fall to the ground unable to fight, dead, unconcious or nearly dead.
Why did you not mention about comparison of weapon skills? It is what would decrease dealed damage to the reasonable numbers you do in eg. sewers, killing rats. It is how fight equally skilled enemies. Take two newbies as example, if you refuse a rat to be unskilled enemy.
