Crafting to account for "real world" internet issues
« on: January 23, 2007, 06:49:02 am »
I have found that if someone looses their connection while they have something in a crafting machine then that item becomes free for anyone to take.  That is not bad, but I feel it could be improved by returning the item(s) to the inventory of the player so that they won't loose it and can just log back in and keep trying until it works (as in no crash in the middle).

I ask this because I have problems during certain times and it really discourages me from crafting except during a certain time window.  I realize that it is a little artificial, but with all the effort required to do crafting I am sure other players would appreciate it also.

I noticed this as well, whenever I crashed or lost my internet connection while some of my resources were in a crafting container .. they were always gone afterwards. It would be nice if something is done to prevent this as much as possible.

That's a good point.

I suppose until it's fixed, your best bet would be to get a homie to craft with you, so they can hold your stuff if you go link-dead...
