I second the questions presented by Bepules in the previous post.  I recognize that there are a lot of 300 quality weapons out there due to stack and repair of weapons that survived the downgrade, and that currently, it is not possible to make such weapons without using one of those as a template.

My one dissent is I believe we need to keep stack and repair as long as weapon qualities don't go up commensurate with increasing skills.

From my testing, one will have to be a level 40 swordmaker before you can make a 300 quality sword, and that would take months of nearly continuous practice.  Both the weapon quality and steel quality bugs need to be fixed before stack and repair is eliminated.

Are you saying a bug should not be fixed because in a game you could play for years you need a few months to reach the maximum in the game, so you really need to exploit the bug and do it in minutes???

For some reason the 300/300 cap was reduced to 250/250.

Which means that happened to everybody. There's no 300/300 swords/knives/whatever left any where...

There woul be barely demand on middle Q weopons that are a lot of crafter are able to make today.

There would be barely demand on them anyway, since slash 3-4 weapons, which a 200/200 is approximately comparable with, only cost 3-5k and aren't that rare.

He's not really saying 'lets keep the bug', no crafter would say that, who really cares for his desired hobby/business, since the template thing entirely ignores the progress you make in your crafting skills. Nevertheless, he is right. Training the crafting-related skills takes way too long, if you compare it to other skills. And crafting weapons does not only take a few minutes. If you mine the iron&coal yourself, which most of the crafters do, since there is no real market for steel stock, it takes you a few hours for a pair of shortswords, depending on your luck and mining skill. Even newbies make more money and faster, by mining gold and selling it to the metallurgy experts. So, If you want to make the real money, don't waste your time on crafting, spend it on metallurgy and mining and you are set.

Of course Im not saying that its a problem because it takes so long.

Im saying its a bug since I made a 194 short sword at level 9, and then the qualities dropped off.  By the time I was at level 14, I could only make 130 quality.  And a level 20 only makes 154 quality.

It seems to drop off after level 9 then very slowly rise, so that it will be about level 25 to get back above the 194 I got at level 9!

And I concur completely with Rongar on the relative "hardness" of crafting compared to other skills.  Being a crafter is foolish at the current time.

Crafting a weapon depends most on the luck you have. If you made a Q194 short sword with lvl 9 in sword making you had much luck. I for myself made a lot af weapons at the same time, the same skill and the same Q of the weapon parts. The maximum difference in quality was more than 90.

In my opinion it is not necessary to fix the stacking and repairing. I really don't know if it is a bug. I thought it is a feature, isn't it?

The problem is, that the old Q250 and Q300 weapons made with using a bug are still in the game. So everybody could make a copy of it.
If you train hard and make a Q300 one day it should be allowed to make a copy of it.
I would suggest to wipe all selfmade weapons with Q250 and more. If the wipe is now, nobody would complain that his weapons made by hard training are wiped.

Greetings

I had been informed by Bepules that he had never used his Master Crafted Hammer since he could not equip it in his
left hand. I just tried mine and confirm, it does not equip to the left hand, only the right. Even if it worked only as well
as the standard one, we could not use it.

The master crafting hammer is bugged and reported as such, because of the complexity of crafting it will be hard to get that hammer to work properly though.

It's not a bug. Crafting bonuses just aren't implemented yet.
