Problems
« on: February 28, 2007, 10:30:47 pm »
Alright, there's something wrong with my internet. I can't stand to talk to the people at Time Warner to help out with the connection, I tried it yesterday and I got put on hold, finally managed to get a hold of someone, but they transferred me, got put on hold some more, then it turned out I was transferred to the wrong place, so I got transferred again, put on hold again, and finally gave up on it.

The problem is, on my modem, the light next to "cable" is blinking, when normally it's solid, and I can't connect. It fixes itself after about 10 minutes, but I still can't connect to the internet, so I have to go to the "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage" page, and have it fix the connection for me, but I can't fix it when the cable light's blinking.

So, I ask, what the hell's wrong with this thing? The cable light starts blinking in 10 period cooldowns. It'll blink for 10 minutes, stop, then blink some more. This just started happening about 2 days ago.

If there is a recessed reset button on the back of your modem, try clicking this with a pen-tip and holding it for a couple of seconds. Hardware such as this usually has one for resetting the router or modem, or try pulling the power for a few seconds and let it reset itself. If the button is what I think it is, it may mean that the connection back to the service provider is gone wonky. In either case, it is their network, so you will probably have to wait for as long as they make you and then tell them it don't work and you want your money back.

Alright, I'm not much of a computer person. Basically, the way it's supposed to work, is the two lights on the left are solid, the one in the middle should blink off and on, and the one on the right should be solid. The way it is now, the one on the far left (cable), is blinking, making it so I can't connect to the internet. It hasn't happened since I made my post, I did pull the plug and wait a while, so it might be fixed now, but I'll make another post of it happens again.

Why does nobody ever have problems with repressed sexuality or homicidal delusions or something interesting around here!? :P

hmm feels like a toshiba or a terayon... probably a toshiba. cause i'm not sure that timewarner has many terayons out there...

what you have to do is call in when the cable light is flashing, you also want to say that the connection is intermittant. and that when the connection goes down the cable light starts flashing.

the call should have been logged... but do be sure to get a 'ticket number' before they transfer you. also if you still have the ticket number call back in with it. it will basically bring the next agent up to speed.

Well, the way I see it, they have too many people to talk to, so they want to put you on hold forever so you just give up.

Anyway, ever since the disconnect-reconnect thing, it's stopped having that problem.

no simple way to juggle several million accounts. in call centres basically nation wide.

besides the first number that you call is just running flak for the techs higher up. you've got to run it.

You might be better off if it is intermittent to send their tech support an email. Do they give you some dial-up access as well?
