I\'m confident that things would only get better, altho since it\'s an open-source project it\'s hard to say when everything should be ready for production. I\'m on a Duron 1.2G, 384MB RAM, GF4MX440, and it\'s really quite choppy. I\'ve a feeling it\'s got to do with the lack of certain performance-tuning features - eg Distancing, loading of maps... and also cuz there may be huge chunks of code that\'s not quite coded optimally yet.
Still, I\'m quite sure that by the time the game\'s ready that everybody\'s system should be up to snuff with its demands. I noticed that while the Planeshift team was getting the server-side software ready that they spent quite a while fixing memory leaks which caused CPU usage to go through the roof.
These are just developmental stages and it\'s completely natural that things aren\'t running optimally, but it can only get better really.
