PS hangs my Mac

I don't normally use a Mac, but tried it out on a friend's machine.  It runs beautifully for a while.  Then if I walk somewhere it hangs the entire system.  Completely!  Needs a hard boot.  I'd be more specific, but I didn't want to do this to my friend's machine more than twice.  I thought I should report it here since I don't see anything about this in the forum or the bugtracker.  (Incidentally, doesn't the new bugtracker have a way to select by operating system?)

Machine specs:
Mac OS X Version 10.4.11
2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 1GB DDR2
