Death Realm Guide
« on: February 14, 2008, 08:48:21 pm »
I was  thinking... since the Death Realm is such a massive place, and there are a lot of newbies out there (including myself) who get stuck in the Death Realm, getting frustrated, eventually quitting PS or making a new character can anybody post tips, tricks, or maybe even a walkthrough? Thanks!

Not on the official public forums.

If you get lost in the death realm, the best way to get out is to ask other souls for help and if everyone's acting like zombies and passing right past you, well then... follow them. If they are heading out they will show you the way (whether they want to or not). :detective:

Also, there are many interesting books there so you can kill time reading in the library waiting for a kind soul to arrive and guide you out.

Don't worry, you didn't. You would have had your post contained spoilers. If you wish to create a DR guide for your guildmates and friends you can do it but you should keep access to it restricted so that nobody could accidentally bump into it and, well... get spoiled.

Guides will only work so long as the Deathrealm is static.

Did I just say that out loud? Silly me.

I would really love a dynamic DR, but I guess that will take a long time, even if it's somewhere on the list.

@topic:
I don't see why some people keep complaining about the DR beeing difficult and the debuff afterwards beeing unfair. I also do fighting and it took me quite some time as a newbie to get killed. Just be careful, dying is no fun  8)
Additionally: I found out of DR on my own. It took me some time, but it was quite interesting and had the wanted effect: I had to struggle for some time in order to escape DEATH. I actually felt really good after I made it :-)

So I encourage everybody that knows how to get out of DR (guess everybody that played for more then a month):
Don't just tell anybody how to get out. If they struggle for a while you can give tips, but having a Guide (in a guilds forum i.e.) just spoils the fun.
If players give up playing, because they stay for more then 10 minutes in DR, then they would give up later-on anyways..

Well, I guess to tell people that they should look around where they see in the distance a part of  way didn't they didn't walk on might be a good tip. It seems obvious to do that, but sometimes you forget, that this is no normal labyrinth, with lots of walls around you, which all look the same.

The death realm is one of the settings team's favorite aspects of the game. I can assure all players that in time it will get much more attention and we do have some very big plans. I wish I could say more but Talad would kick my arse.

Id like to add to that dying IS fun, as long as its not when you get glitched just before entering a vital spot after walking there for 2 hours. The death realm itself is pretty nice place, Id just hope that there would be more npcs with some items that you could get from DR only and some more quests would also be nice. Its not that hard to get out of DR, you just need to be creative.

Yeah, dying is fun. It's just the annoying debuff that you get when you teleport back from the DR. With that said, I hope it doesn't become too big, or else I'll get lost.

Here's an idea... don't die.

Well that worked for a few days, certainly no monsters killed me.
I did however attempt to click on an npc and walked off a bottomless chasm.
Now im wandering around a death realm and the only other person here seems to be trying to follow me.

Death realm seemed fun on paper, but now that im here its a tiny bit dull.

*edit*

Luckily a gentleman named phinneas from pax amor came along and asked if i needed help.

Good thing too, there was no way i was ever going to find that exit on my own. I could see it in the distance but that didnt really help.

Please edit this if it is too much a spoiler but i really think it might be usefull.

The thing you are seeking is the glowing purple portal you can sometimes see in the distance.
The paved path does not lead directly to it, you will need to explore off the main path and take some pretty unusual directions to find it.

Hope thats helpfull but not too helpfull....

a guide is maybe good...
you mustn't write the way 1:1 ;)

but you can write a guide with some puzzle... not easy to read, there are no exactly information, also you must think about it ^^
so it's maybe more funny than you write the fastest way out of there.

so you can paraphrase some "highlights".
for e.g.
"It's a dark place, but there is light. You can go along, but be carefull there a traps. There is a way in the sky, go not left, go not right or you will fall and die. See you the great holes, the right way is the maybe the right?"

hm... where is it? *g*

i get some inspirations from the game Diablo 1, there are some books, when you active them the you "read" (listen ^^) the words from them, sometimes it's history, other times it's a lyric and it give you many hints.

what do you say about something like that? O.o'
