Guild Recruitment
Outer ring of the Hylaa Plaza
Saturday 28June,Sunday 29 June 2008
1300-1500  GMT

This is not a Hosted event.
[Any participation or organization depends solely on the individual guilds and its members]

It is an open opportunity to advertise your guild and to answer some questions about it. If you wish to use it. The outer ring of the Hylaa Plaza gives easy access and visibility for someone looking for a guild. As well as a guild looking for members.

-Use a book to give a brief about your guild, and/or some in-game contacts.
-You can send a member or take turns in the time period given to advertise and answer any questions that another citizen may have about your guild
   - You can take the opportunity to recruit there if you wish
   - It offers citizens the chance to speak to you or other members of your guild
   - It offers citizens a place and time to seek some answers they may have about your guild and others
   - If you do set-up a recruiting station, remember you are selling your guild and it's ideas to the public.

There will be others doing the same. So make a good impression.

Sponsers wanted:

The Call of Destiny would like to ask the community if there is someone who would be interested in organizing,Hosting and sponsoring a literary contest for the Festival.
with classes such as, Poetry, songs, and stories. Written and/or performed.

We would also like to know if anyone would be interested in organizing, hosting and sponsoring a community picnic of some type, to include food and some games.

And from bouncing around the forums I know there are many, many, more great ideas out there that would really make this a Festival weekend.

As much as we would wish to volunteer for more, we have debated over the last couple of weeks on what we could cover [ due to Time zones of active players and those    darn RL issues] and decided on the Tournament and the market. Individual members may come in, like myself at different times and do a small stand, or to participate in other events. But as a guild the preparation and hosting of those two events have limited our time and efforts to their execution and success.

I will volunteer myself to help in some way and/or fashion if you need assistance putting something together, or setting something up

We thank you for you interest and support
                                                                                                                                              Jaycol
                                                                                                                                               CoD

Why must you hide Elupe Udo with Poetry, songs, and stories? You got yourself a sponsor pleas PM me Jaycol on what you need of me and you got it within reason as I am a very poor Lemur I'm afraid.

Wow, DemonHunterSK. I didn't know you were a primate, but that explains things. After all you are a Lemur....or did you mean your character?
And now to my share of constructive criticism. I like this idea! (Almost) anything that adds to the athmosphere is a great idea, and a summer festival would be just the thing for a medieval town to do.

Umm...right if your trying to insult me it's not going to work. If I was some gruff dwarf perhaps I would be just as rude as you, but us Lemur's are sofisticated people. But anyways yeah I support the idea. Now, i just hope I get the day off or can spend most of the day around down helping and singing for the masses.

DemonHunterSK, I think Donari's trying to say you're being a little too IC in a place meant to be OOC. :P You're not your character when you're on the forum...

  \\o//Thanks again DemonHunterSK!

I appreciate your offer, and will wait to hear from you.

** In other news: To answer a question. "of what would make a good event" I shall answer "Any"

A festival is a gathering and/or ceremony of a community. Usually to mark the end of a season, or a beginning, or to mark a great event new or old. It helps to open commerce and trade. Offering opportunity to meet new people, share new ideas, trading and selling of a variety of crafts and wares, testing skills in contests. From the middle ages into modern  time it offered the young events of the coming of age, to be taken into apprenticeship  or to meet a prospective spouse. It is made up of many events from the main attractions to a simple beverage stand. Some normal, some strange. Many being step up if only to take your money.  It has honest vender's and crooked ones.

To further answer that question. If you think it would be a good idea, then yes it would be.

PS has given us the tools to have fun, so lets have some fun. [A big "Thanks" there PS team for many hours of amusement]

Well, I don't know if I will be able to log on during the festival So I probably can't do the literary part.  :'(  but I can certainly provide food.  Only thing is, I usually don't have enough room in my inventory to store the food. If I had someone who could hold on to it, I could make the picnic food ahead of time maybe.  :) Pot roast anyone?  :D

i think it's great that you would do that Illysia.

It is till early yet and I'm hoping someone will be interested in hosting a picnic type event. If they do, we will find you some storage for your cuisine. Lets wait and see what this
weekend turns up.

But I do hope you be able to come to the Festival, even for a short while.

The Hydlaa-Rally

I (i.e. Luzino Lemingo) will be holding a Hydlaa-Rally on sunday. 10 questions about Hydlaa (plaza area, library district, arena, dungeon and sewers) and its residents await those interested to join. All answers can be found by walking around with your eyes open or by asking around. So especially for those new to Hydlaa it's a fun chance to get to know your new surroundings a bit better. But of course everyone is welcome to join the fun!
Starting fee is 60 Trias. You will also need to get a blank book to write down your answers (can be bought at the library for 50 Trias).
Out of all participants who show up with the correct answers, 3 prizes will be drawn:
1st prize: 10,000 Trias, 1 Battle Helmet, 1 Glyph, 1 gold ring
2nd prize: 8,000 Trias, 2 standard short swords, 1 Glyph
3rd prize: 5.000 Trias, 2 standard sabres, 1 Glyph

Date: Sunday, 29 June
Timeframe: Questions handed out from 13:00 to 15:00 GMT
Latest time to hand in your answers is 16:00 GMT, but you can show up anytime before when you're done
Winners drawn about 16:30 GMT, depending on how many participants I need to deal with :)
Location: In front of Jayose's Library in East Hydlaa. (for practicality as both the participants and I will need to buy books)

note: You can sell your own book and the one you get from me containing the questions afterwards, so even if you don't win you won't suffer a huge loss. Thought this might be worth mentionning for the newbies who don't have much money yet.

I'm looking forward to the Hydlaa Summer Festival, it could be a great event, I hope more citizens become involved, i will certainly be promoting the Festival when i can.

I have not yet finalised the details but The House of Games would like to hold "The Hydlaa Festival Draw". Tickets on sale at 1200 GMT on the 28th june at the start of the Festival and the draw to be held at 1800 GMT on the 29th at the Gazebo behind the Temple. [If it is not to laggy] Tickets will be 50 tria each so that everyone can afford to play and the prize will be generated from the proceeds, less The House of Games 10% of course  :innocent:

Festival Marketplace
Sunday 29 June 2008
1900 GMT

For the market at the East Gate area. I know that it is a big area, but in the interest of all who participate. I know many like to display their wares. I think it would be best and add more to a real market place setting if we used the entire street from the Library to the Gate opening. It will allow each vendor more space and comfort, as well as allow for less lag as we will not be all congested together in one group. It would ease sales by reducing the chat overrun of each other. Providing more role play opportunity while making a sale. It would allow customers the luxury to walk around to search and shop for a better price and/or item. Making it more fun for all by adding a little competition to draw in customers.

* If you plan on attending the market. Place an Advertisement below with your name, and the type of Wares or crafts you will be selling.

Be creative with the fun you create!
