Hope for Adrenalina and all MacPPCusers?

Hello,
every day I look here in the forum for news with the MacPPC problem. Now I read this about the old maps.
Please tell me where and how I get this "old" maps, and how I must install them in the 4.02 client.
For me in this time the life in Yliakum is horrible. I can only stay in Hydlaa Plaza, nothing others, always failed region load. I have all done in the updaterxml, and the other things, what is relevant for mac.

It is not too difficult to copy over the old maps. All you have to do is to install the old client (0.4.01) again. But install it into a different directory and do not update it! So you have two copies of the planeshift-folder on your harddisk. You will have to copy the worldmap-files from this folder to your updated planeshift-folder.

Within the 0.4.01-planeshift-folder there is a folder named "art" and within that is one named "world". Within it are all the worldmap-files.
So, let's say your client crashes on Ojaroad part one and two. Then you would copy the files "ojaroad1.zip" and "ojaroad2.zip" into your other planeshift-folder, into the "world"-folder there (the updated one).

many thanks for this hint.

I have done it - changed all the maps, which were new. So  for now I can go to all regions, except the arena, bdrd2 and Bronze Doors and for come out of Dungeons I kill me. Now I can play a little more than the last 5 weeks.

I hope that in this Life the macPPC Dev will have the time to fix all these horrible bugs in PS. ( Now I wait already 5 months - since the version 4.01 )

I don't like to go back in development and use old stuff, but same as Adrenalina, I've been largely unable to leave Hydlaa because of this.
Until now, that is I can go almost everywhere now

HI,
After I have changed the maps, I now test where I can go . Ojard1 is good, ojard2 is laggy, there I was killed from a ulbernaut. Now I stay in the DR. and cannot move. after loading the game, and when I want to go the game freezes.
So now I make a petion to the GMs that they put my char in Ojaveda.

All my results I will write here also for the other MacPPC users.

For one, I just wanted to mention, that I wasn't the one who had the idea to use the old maps. I only heard it on irc, tried it and it worked. So it's not me who is to honour

Second, Adrenalina, if you can't go to BD, is that because it shows "loading region failed" when you try to access the second part of BDRoad? If so, the following *might* help you:

I have the same problem and when it happens and I reload the game, I am usually placed back on the first part of BDRoad. *But* sometimes (after reloading several times) I am placed on the second part! So, in other words, if the above happens, you could try to access the second part of BDRoad. You will *always* have the same "loading region failed"-message but with some luck you might finally end on the next part of the road. But beware that this part lags as much as one part of Ojaroad. But the Bronze Doors-area itself does not lag at all for me.

today finally after a while without PS, I testet it to get into bdroad2 Not possible for me, also after more than ten times reloading. Always my char is at the end of the first road.

These MacPPC Problems now are since 7 months. and it makes to loose the patience and the fun to play Planeshift.

Adrenalina: Try to contact a GM on IRC, to check if your character can be moved to a safe region. There may be parts that you will not be able to access, but at least you can play the game then.

 Hi, all PPC Users.
I do how I sayed, I write my results of the tests. Today I have testet to go in the arena. After I have read the news about the signposts, who are called portals. And I can go now in the arena, after seven months finally.
The next thing what I try is going to bdroad2. And also I will write my results.

For now I can live with the laggy situation, important is to go everywhere in Yliakum, so I can continue my quests.

But the great hope always is, that will come the day, when Planeshift is playable with less problems.

The way from bdrd1 to bdrd2 is yet bad for me there is no signpost Portal and th loading region failed comes again. Without help from GMs is nothing to do.

I thought there are now some fixes concerning the crashes at map loading points on laanx. Don't they help for macs or am I mistaken and there are no fixes (yet) ?

very unhappy I must write this:

The portal in the arenatunnel for me and my MacPPC G4 doesn`t work. It has worked one time only. Yet three times I have must ask a GM that he move me to Hydlaa back.

So, what is it. That since 7 months nothing has been done for the MacPPC users.

the ppc problem is on top of our list (despite there being many other bugs). Unfortunately the MacPPC is not a platform that is easy for us to test. A dev working on a fix is getting a bit more time though, and we hope he can have a look soon. Please hang on, and if gms complain to you, (which I do not think they do) send them to me

This is really bugging me too, i cannot get to bdroad2 as there is no portal. Is it possible one can be put into place?
