Last but not least Talad. I got to see him in game once. He was introducing the groffels (SP?) for the first time and appeared before me to show me these new pets. We roleplayed the whole event. It was an awesome experience!

Popularity contest number... umm ... what?  18ish now?

I'm loving the ego boost that's coming with seeing my name so often but, come on... stop lying   Chances are I was mean to you, insulted you or tried to kill you (love ya, Zorbels ) ... or you're Parallo.

Anyways, I hate and love these things... My ego loves them because... come on, am I ever not mentioned?  But besides that it's just a bunch of "I'll put these people and see how many people have me there."  Sure, it's not always like that.  Zorbels for instance really just didn't want to miss anybody and wanted to give hugs to all who deserved it, which I think is great.  Others are just representing their groups.  But when it comes down to it, for the most part, the people who come here look to see how often their name is mentioned.  For me, that's great, you all love me so I'm all over the place, but for some lower key roleplayers, it's not so good.  Imagine roleplaying for hours and then not getting mentioned once, not because you're not a good roleplayer but, because you don't really have one group or really close friends.

I have my preferences when it comes to roleplayers (and I have my least favourites too... My very often voiced least favourites) but, they know who they are.  They are the ones who get whispers almost every time they are on, the ones I go say hi to in the taverns and the ones I try to kill (love ya, Zorbels ).

So... Stop listing me.  Whenever you think "Oh, Cado fits in my list" stop yourself and think of somebody who hasn't shown up on anybody's list yet but really deserves to and let them take my place because, when you get right down to it, it'll help them more than me and god knows they deserve it more.

To be honest Waylander I made this thread for two reasons:

1) to give us forum readers something else to read besides all the technical threads that have become the norm on this forum.

2) this gives the role players a chance to see who is considered a 'good role player' by the people who role play.

This is sort like the "Say Thank You" thread without saying Thank You.

If I was a new player and wanted to role play I certainly would look for Lolitra as a role model being how many times her name is mentioned. Lolitra is amazing. When Zorbels returns I know I will be looking for her to make interesting role plays. I have had the honor to play with Gwinn and I thought she was awesome to play with. My hat is also off to Izzabella who is a wonderful role player also. There are so many that had a unique style that lead to others having their own unique style and it makes PS so much fun.

To be most honest I did do this because I know people like praise and I do think that our role players deserve praise because they are the best of the best. So keep nominating your favorite role player. Maybe someone who has not played in ages might return if they see there name.

I also hope this will inspire a whole new generation of players to role play as well.

Ya, in a way I didn't want to miss anyone but this list was also a way for me to show those who might have never known where they stood with me how much I valued the RP enviroment they created. Believe it or not I didn't add everyone though, I do have about 30 more names that didn't make the list because their characters didn't leave a strong RP impression that those on my list did.

I suppose this list has both good and bad qualities to it. As Waylander mentioned there sadly will be those people who double and triple check to see if their on the list purely for their big ego's. Some won't take it seriously and nominate themselves trying to appear funny. I suppose it could get a person down about themselves if they see their name isn't on this list. I guess it could be looked at as a popularity contest. But that for the most part only involves those with huge egos really, otherwise why would one care?

I also see the positive side. It helps those who are newish to the community to see who the other RPer's view as a good roleplayer. This might help those new to the game search out these nominees and learn from their RPing skills. It also gives the community a chance to show their respect to the hard working RPer's. I really see no one on these lists that didn't deserve the recognition they are receiving (Besides the self nominated ones :/). I admit that seeing my name a few times made me feel great and showed me that I am not forgotten. All my hard work is still with those I roleplayed with. Makes it worth all the sweat, blood and tears I put into this game. It also makes me want to return. (Come on computer guy! Fix meh damn computer faster! :/)

You can kill me anytime! Of course you were mean to me at times but that is why I liked your character silly. You weren't the same as everyone else. So refreshing, some of the self proclaimed baddies in PlaneShift could learn alot from you and others like you.  Love ya too Waylander! Ok now that is all the niceness you get from me!
