My character doesn't really follow a specific deity, but is in the habit of parting company with "May Laanx smile on you"... mostly as a IC way of saying... "hope the server stays up"... :)

Even though worship of ALL gods is not consistent with settings it is pertinent to this discussion how many do it anyway.

I'm curious about one thing, though. One of my characters is a Kran, and kra worships both Talad and Xiosia. However, kra needs to eat diamonds and other such things in order to, well...live. So, kra is sometimes required to mine. Would this conflict with kra being a Xiosia follower?

My conclusion is that it wouldn't, because while some people might mine and disturb nature for riches, my character does it for food, just as a hunter might do when killing animals. Hunters respect nature, and adapt to nature, and become the predator just like what animals do to other animals IN nature, so applying this same aspect to my Kran mining out gems and ores, I'm curious to know if mining for food would...make Xiosia angry?

Shalmaneser worshiped Laanx for a while, but it's questionable if it was sincere.  He worshiped Chaos more than anything else, and frankly I never did a good job of writing his character.

Setmot was very private about his personal religious beliefs, although he wrote about religion relatively often.

Shaman, eating is natural. Mining for moolah isn't. So, Xiosia isn't going to hate your Kran.

Meh, my characters are mainly Dakkru and Black Flame. I've got Laanx and Talad worshippers as well but no Xiosia ones. I once had characters with their own made up justified reasons for not worshipping gods, so they were atheists, but they have all long faded away.
Saggi Lezeheso, The Whisper's Jest
Demoik and Rioqura, The Immortal Harrow
Vertum, Will of Dakkru

Duraza Darkom, Slayer of Kittens

Thats a question I wish I had the oppertunity to ask Setmot when he was about. The writings are good though and we have several copies in the DE library.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Even though worship of ALL gods is not consistent with settings it is pertinent to this discussion how many do it anyway.
It seems to me that it's actually the most consistent, since the setting is polytheist.
With a pantheon, people tend to pray a god according to their current need. Hunting, they'll pray Xaosia, hurt, Talad, dying, Dakkru, and so on. Priests would be specialised, but it would be rare for other people.
Not praying at all is also fine, because people easily forget about the gods, when it suits them. There are also other reasons.

Personally, I praise mostly Dakkru. Not because of character creation (no idea who I chose back then), but as an acknowledgment of her importance in my life. She's the boon of Yliakum, and the only one whose power we actually experience heavily. And of course, she's not evil, which makes our gratitude sincere.

A few things I find odd in the system:
- the fact that all Dakkru's NPC followers seem to be evil
- the choice at character creation. It need not be there.
-the fact that the magic ways are not clearly related to a deity or another. I don't mean to restrict the Ways according to characters' faith; I'm referring to the fact that, if I understood correctly, all the glyphs originate from the same deity.
- By reading the description of a new character, everybody can see their faith (including the secretive blackflamers)... until the player finds out how to alter his description.
- The lack of clear mythology about the afterlife, which is, after all, the origin of religion and the main concern of believers.

Shaman: Xiosia won't care one way or another because in the end, your mining does little to nothing to Nature as a whole.

I don't think Tuxide understands a whole lot about religion, but I put Laanx down because he prays to that god anyways.  He considers it miraculous when people get struck down.

All my other characters are either Talad, Dakkru, or Blackflame worshippers.  I don't think I have anyone who worships Xiosia or the 0 god.
