The keyboard WASD thing is already in PS.

The mouselook thing works the way it works.  Sorry it doesn\'t work like your FPSs.

It should work like a normal game - sorry if the basics escape you.

seriously people go play morrowind and see how they set up the controls, that\'s what i would liketo see here, that was the best control set up ever(except for cap lock being the run toggle, i would exit the game and than talk to all my friends in caps)

That\'s a tad callous, don\'t you think? Would it really be that difficult to add the ability to invert the mouselook? I tried setting the mouse sensitivity to a negative value, but that didn\'t work.

I\'d like to see seperate sensitivity settings for the X and Y axis\'s, as well. The left-right look around is more sluggish than the up-down.

Also, as someone mentioned: X axis sensitivity seems to be locked at \"1\" indoors, regardless of the user\'s settings. Meaning that you\'re pretty much forced to use the mouse keys to turn once indoors. Odd.

I\'ve been searching for this thread for long and finally find it :D.

here\'s just my idea :
Indeed mouse look is cool, but
just enable mouse look on right click, because if mouse look is permanent it can be too hard to target something with lags or simply a bad video card.

That\'s why mouselooks is enabled by pressing a key in the first place.

Good post, I\'m interested on seeing the response. I also think the options should be there to adjust sensitivity, inverting, etc. I prefer quite a low sensitivity (because I suffer from first-person motion sickness in games), although the default settings in PS are almost unusable.

Left mouse button to run (holding it) would be cool :p

But what would be better is toggle mouse look on/off with the left mouse button :) (or right and than change  \"target\" to the left mouse

Don\'t forget about adding the INVERT MOUSE setting. It is necessary for some people (like me).

Personally I like the WASD and free mouselook.

I don\'t think switching to the mouse cursor is necessary for picking up/dropping/using item. Just aim and press a key on the keyboard is ok.

No hands on screen, cursors, point and click actions switching and all this crap...

I don\'t think head movement is good in the game. It complicates character control and gives nothing.

Morrowind style is perfect.

I know no one playing without mouselook now... I\'d made it default, it\'s just comfortable.

It is all about \"How to forget that you\'re sitting in front of mouse/keyboard/screen, and immerse in the virtual world\" thing.

This game has a great potential.

Don\'t waste it.

I agree with gregers...

The mouse look should be default. And to access the other stuff people would use the key board... Here is my suggestion,

Left Click = Use
Middle Click (the wheel) = Jump
Right Click = Attack (REMEMBER: I do not know the combat system in CB)
Arrows = Movement
Shift = Run
Caps Lock = Toggle Run/Walk mode
I = Inventory
S = Skills/Stats
C = Crouch (If that is in CB)
V = Toggle Camera View
T = Talk
Mouse wheel = Quick cycle through the inventory?
O = Options menu (Video/Sound/Controlls)
M = Misc. Menu (For other stuff)

EDIT: Added stuff...

I like that idea, it is a great idea so we don\'t have to constantly be pressing buttons.

it is good, but it gives off too much of an FPS feel. i think its fine the way it is, as long as devs program surroundings acordingly

How has this thread gone for so long?
This is planeshift, and not morrowind, Morrowind was not a good game, get over it.
This is not a half-life spawn, in an mmorpg you don\'t need to be able to run around like in CS.
The game is as it is, and all I\'d change is add an adjustable sensitivity... I like PS how it is, not a as a morrowind clone.

As for config? Can\'t you change controls with keys.xml?

I like Red Jelly Beans!
