I talked to an advisor who gave me a link to the forums and found a something to remove the blackness for Mac OSX. Any ubuntu users had this problem and had a solution. Would love to hear it. Impossible to play with 1/3 of the screen totally black.

More information is required.
Driver versions, is PS SVN or binary, hardware, is compiz running, etc.
