Play for a few hours on the Cataclysm beta servers and get back to me if you're still unimpressed with level of detail that WoW has put into their game for the new textures and other visual aspects coming in their new expansion they are releasing.
I'm running a pretty top of the line i7 rig atm, and on ultra settings that game looks darn nice.
They're using state of the art design techniques for their new expansion and the sheer level of detail you see really shows it. Now, for most people their computer will just die if they try to view the game on anything but regular settings, but that's why that setting exists.
PS graphics? Really, they aren't all that bad. They were actually pretty darn nice in 2003 compared to most other games out there at that time. The problem is they haven't been expanded upon much since then, while most others have continued to progress. But that's the difference between volunteer driven and commercial driven.
I personally find the graphics in PS to be fine given the size of the team working them. /shrug
