I dont mind animals as enemies, as long as they are things like bears, wolves, tigers, ect.

NOT RABBITS, KITTIES, TURTLES, OVERSIZED LADY BUGS... gay stuff like that...

But as far as im concerned, the ideal monster is a nice big, ugly, scary, mean orc... and dont forget to give the orc offencive boddie oders...

Here\'s a traditional style medieval monster.

Name: Gremlin
Level: really easy to kinda hard
Description: short, like 2 1/5 feet high, dresses in blue, red, green, brown, silver, or gold, depending on difficulty.
Wears a little pointed cap, baggy clothing, and those little shoes with pointed toes that curl up, like jester shoes.
Physical Attack style: anything from punching or slide-tackling to using little crossbows or daggers for the higher levels.
Magic Attack Styles: mostly no magic, but have slight resistance to it. The higher level ones have spells like St. Vitus\' Dance (interferes with player control of character) or a simple earth one like slow.

I hope that there will be variations to the monsters.

Say you have a \"Dark Warrior\" or somethin. They could have different weapons, one has a sword, one has a mace, one has a flail etc. and he drops that weapon when killed.

I also think the monsters should have different HP, like a monster has a HP range of 50-75, so there are weak and strong variations of a certain monster. In some games (runescape), you can calculate exactly how many monsters you need to kill to get to the next level. HP variations would solve this problem.

Also, the monster should drop what you see. I hate games that when you kill a monster with really cool armor on, and you can\'t grab it and wear it!

OK, now for my monster idea...
Name: Ris-Salda

Description: A Ylian-looking necromancer; wears black robes; carries a Salda Staff.

Physical Attacks: none, except maybe hitting you with his staff.

Magical Attacks: Fire Bolt - Stream of fire shoots from the tip of his staff. Dark Wave - Black and purple lighting is fired at you. Chaotic Trance - Makes you lose some of your speed and endurence until the trance is broked (i.e. when the Ris-Salda is dead)

Drops: Salda Staff - weak staff used for some offensive spells (always dropped)
Tria- small to moderate amounts (Usually dropped)

  (borrowing empanado\'s drawing :P)

Name: Na\'Krath
Difficulty: Very Hard

8 feet tall. Fairly fast and strong. Also Capable of self-healing meaning you have to kill it quick. Uses Spiked morning star staff thing to bludgeon players to death if close enough; this attack is devestatingly painful. If the player is out of range of bludgeoning attack it casts a poison spell on the player. Hunt in Pack of 3, with one leader {A Greater Na\'Krath ( taller with glowing eyes)} and two regulars.

The Greater Na\'Krath should occasionally drop rare items, like poison armour or spells.

That is lot of monster, but how about animals? Just like the chickens of Guardia they might defend themselves. Also a defenseless creature like a chicken might be fun.

Their only purpose is to test your new weapon or let go of your frustration. Someone who has played Dink Smallwood knows what i am talking about. Could be something cute and soft reproducing fast and common in some areas like furbies or those of startrek.

Could be the chicken Guardia mentioned.

What about \"borrowing\" some monsters from the monsters manual? for instance Orcs? Bugbears?  Elves? Nesse? Etc...
