I tried creating a character with the name Dyadin and got a linkdead error. Then i tried making the same character with the same name as a Ynnoun (i think thats how you spell it, if not its the bottom race) and it worked. My brother used the same race and it worked too.

Well i switched to win 98/me compatability and it didnt slay linkdead when i uploaded character but now it says downloading basic textures and initializing character.  It has been at this screen for 5 min now.   erk.   How do i do this whole change servername to IP thing? CMD?
help plz

Edit: dur im looking way too into things.  The Ip at the character upload screen.. well i did that and now i dont even gt to the initializing screen anymore.. link dead once again.

Well i messed around in my Linksys router program (192.168.1.1) and now it gets all the way to initializing world before stoping/freezing..../crashing.

I really am screwed up!  Can somebody tell me how to change my properties from windows 95 to 98 as mentioned earlier?  I have an XP, is it possible to change the properties to XP?

okay: this is my system key stuff:

Pent III, Win 98SE
no firewalls, except for a base linksys router

had the same error on creation, but when i restarted client, i connected with that same character, and i got to where it loaded the area, but then froze.

I changed the forwarding settings on the router to forward the port 13331 to port 13331, to my computer. this kinda bypasses the firewall on the router, sending the data directly to my pc.

it works now, and im playn...by the way, great game, amazing graphics for a free mmo...thx 4 the game!

solved the linkdead problem on the 2 systems I set the game up on.

I hav tried eerything here. i hav switched the IP address for the text and changed the compatibility to windows 98/Me. I am an XP userand my router is SMC.

i havent tried yet but i think its to do with fire wall.. i have fire wall but cant turn it off becus when i do it restarts my comp and when i restart it its auto maticaly on..... FOR PEOPLE WITH FIREWALL.... RIGHT CLICK ON THE 2 COMPUTERS .... CLICK CHANGE NETWORK SETTINGS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT..............................GO TO ADVANCED AND IT WILL HAVE A BOX SAYING \" FIRE WALL \" ..... TURN IT OFF AND TRY LOGGING ON !!

I got that linkdead message with a caracter, then i changed my compatibility setting to win98/ME (yes, i use XP) and changed the network name by the IP adress.
Then i tried to make a new caracther and got tha same message (Arrgh: \"linkdead\").
Hey programer, please, delete my failed characters, names: Carlito (or Carlitos, i don\'t remember well) and Kaitos.
I\'ll try again later.
