Wouldn't you rather have a chinchilla, Mariana?

In other news, chinchillas are pretty cool.

Rheyai's little tongue stuck out of the side of her mouth as she worked. She traced the lines of her drawing with great care, taking a lot of time on the face to make sure it would be just right. She added the eyes and stared at them for a moment, thinking. Oele always looks so sad. A smile split her face. I bet I could make her eyes look more happy.

But that wouldn't fit in with what she needed to do. First, she had to find her friend, to make sure the big red meanie man didn't hurt her. Then, she would bring her to the few adults who weren't stupid and actually believed her about the meanie man. Grown-ups can be so silly sometimes, she mused with a huff.

Adding the finishing touches, she grinned widely and patted the portrait with her paw. There. Now all I have to do is get Emmara or Creysda to put this on that big bulletin board, and we'll find her in no time.

Aww... I like it

She looks a bit old, doesn't she? But I know how hard it is to draw human faces. Especially those of kids...

Tried to do one where Oele looked a bit more childlike, it turned out okay-ish but...meh. Still not young enough I don't think.

She looks definitely younger now :)

I am not sure... from the picture I would guess about 10-12 years old? But I am bad at guessing ages, so I could be off... ;)

I think some of it is the details: the fact that she looks concerned, the eye on her head, the shield. These make her automatically appear to be older than she is, it's hard to implement them on a child.

hm... could be. So it would be better if I changed the desc, saying a child with the height of a 6 year old, but with a look on her face of a 10 year old? ;)

Rheyai dipped her quill into the ink well. No charcoal for this one, she didn't want it to smudge. It was a gift. She traced the lines carefully and, when she was finished, she waved her paw over the image to let it dry.

She figured that Travosh was too snarky to actually like the drawing. But she'd give it to the klyros anyway, for helping chase away some of her fears unawares. The concept that he was nearly as racist as the ones that strung her up and used her for target practice didn't occur to her. Nor did the idea that they couldn't be friends due to such racism. A concept like that hadn't entered her head, too childishly niave. In her head he was the hero that had chased away the boogyman.
