Err... why does it freeze?!

Hey! I just downloaded the client for PlaneShift last night (after lots of work trying to figure out how, I noticed there was simple instructions right on the page, lol) I got on. I created my character and got to the point of connecting. When I click connect and it starts loading, it does the following:

Initializing basic textures...
Initializing (something, not sure what right here)...
Initializing GUI...
Initializing World... (this is where it freezes.)

THe music keeps playing and will skip off and on, sometimes very short, sometimes VERY long (30 seconds - 1 minute). I\'m using a new computer, this oculdn\'t be the problem. But also, when I load it it says something about it can\'t load a 3d somethign or another, will try an alternative one, this is in OPENGL or normal (slow) version. I tried running the updater and playing with the settings, nothing helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I wanna play this game ;) Try to get back ot me as soon as possible... thanks!

Just let it sit there, it\'s been known to load really slowly the first time.
In some occasions it can take up to 2 hours.

It\'ll get there, just slowly. Patience is a virtue.

Thanks! If I ever get this working I will hang around here and help out others who\'ve had this problem. I know this game is not NEAR done, but when it is, please do try to do soemthing about this wait. Heh.. thanks again! And even leave it running if it says Not Responding?

You say it can take 2 hours the first time? But when I created my character it took like 5mins, but I will try this anyway. Thanks. Be back in 2 1/2 hours to be sure...
