Freezing up PC

When i load up planeshift, it loads up fine. i can log in alright, but when itis on the loading screen, it getsas far as initializing the map, and then my whole pc crashes and i have to restart.

this has happened many times, and i would appreciate help on this.

Please give more details. What are your system specs? Do you receive any paticular error messages or does your computer just lock up immediately? Which mode (OpenGL or software) does this occur in, and have you tried both modes?

Other suggestions: Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. Make sure you have DirectX8.1 or later installed on your system. If you alt+tab while trying to load or play the game in windowed mode, you will crash PS. If this is your first connection, it can take up to 2hrs for PS to initially configure itself to your system (one time only), so try to be patient. Note that you should ignore the taskmanager\'s \"not responding\" status in that last case.
