that\'s ridiculous - if you can come up with a good way for a computer to judge quality (besides post length) then you can make a suggestion

Drilixer I didn\'t mean get a computer to rate you i mean people actually reading your post respect you and like you for your input not your post count like in a real conversation

Heres a good example Kada didn\'t get  the respect she now has by how large her post count was, She gave quality input and even helped with the game itself and as a result people liked her

So what I\'m trying to say here is don\'t get a computer to rate you don\'t get people to vote for you ( this would lead to people voting for themselves which wouldn\'t be good) to get the respect you want you get it from people reading your posts and liking the quality of your input

Mogura\'s idea is alot like the Karma system used on http://www.Slashdot.org. (im looking for a link to a page that descibes the whole system, bare with me)

anyway, on this site we probally would only rate users, and people could chose not to see the posts of users that have negative Karma. problem with that is that its like banning users, because they would have no way to get better karma.  perhaps a simpler way would just be to vote on an individual post basis, and if enough people voted that the post sucked, it would be automaticaly removed, and the author would lose the points he had gotten from it.

first of all - these ideas however *erhemm* sensible *choke* they may be... should be posted in the forum ideas forum or whatever it\'s called (dont fame me because i dont remember the name either!) and secondly it should be noted that both the current system and the players voting on players system have faults...  First of all the obvious one is that the current system 9in your opinion) promotes spaming... ok fine... but what about the players voting on players system...  first of all I wouldnt trust the debates in such a forum since anyone who disagrees with you can simply rate you poorly!  oh grea so now we have a system that does not promote freedom of speech - and furthermore to become popular in such a system people need to know your name and for that to happen quantity is much more important than quality - people will not vote on someone they have not heard of!  And then there are many other problems such as voting spamming and creating voter accounts!   Now back to the topic - Venge has already stated where he stands on my spamming and I choose to use the phrase \"I consider 398 posts in a week a compliment\" (since i think there was one bad comment or two but ey why woul i post that in my defence )

Now Venge could you please close this thread since it is completely in the wrong forum anyways (and is simply a nice excuse for me to respond and in doing so up my number of posts and completely laugh in the face of this thread )
