Drilixer's serial replying
« on: July 22, 2003, 12:13:40 pm »
Drilixer, do you make a habit of going into the forums every 10 minutes and replying to every single post? Those who don\'t know what I\'m talking baout, look down the right hand side of the forum - almost every single post was most recently replied to by drilixer.

actually *cracking knuckles* I just check my computer for these forums every other day or so - and you people talk alot in my absence - so i go down the list of new threads (or new posts) and see what I think -> you have to realize that I\'m very oppionated and that this is an excuse not to do my summer homework :)

First of all...who cares.  Why should you care how often he posts?  He\'s staying active in PS\'s community.  Though most of his posts may be completely pointless, they\'re not hurting anyone.  All you\'ve done is waste my time by making me reply to this....

I\'ve noticed Drilixar\'s volume of posts also, but I haven\'t yet crossed over into thinking he is in the spam/abuse category because he is new and enthusiastic and I\'m sure he\'ll calm down soon. :-)

I would like people generally to try to add value in their posts.  Posts should be at least one full sentence and express some thought other than agreement.

Example good short posts:

(see many of my own posts. ;-)

Example bad short posts (one per line):

;)
haha Funny!
I agree with !
Hi and welcome!
Oh I never thought of it that way.
One Word: PKing.

Thanks everyone.  The forums are pretty fun and let\'s keep them that way. :-)

Sheezzz Prophet, not only are you unsure of your manhood  (see his reply here for a good laugh) but now your character bashing Drilixer too! Get a life  X(

By your criteria I must be \"spamming\" *throws up over his shoulder* at least as much if not worse than Drilixer. Mainly because most of his post are in reply to mine or vice-versa.

Drilix I liked you before but now I\'m starting to love you man! (Luckily my character, Illyria, is female so you never know....)  :P High trees catch the winds as they say.

Thanks for your support Venge. Yes we are  new, and enthusiastic and we spend a lot of time on different forums enjoying  ourselves. We probably both have verbal/typing diarrhoea  :D

I do not think there should be a thread about how one person replies to a bunch of posts. Actually, the more people the post the better, which shows the growth of the community. Though, I don\'t mean to discredit you, lost prophet, he really isn\'t spamming. He just comes in, replies to a lot of stuff, then goes off.

Nice sensible and cool-headed reply Shinji, a quality I admire and lack :]

Well prophet shall we kiss and make-up and then burry this thread so as not to make Drilixer even more known and (in)famous?  (I\'m getting jealous of all his free attention)

Btw Shinji concerning your problem with guilds look at the thread again there is some info posted there for you.

as for how much posts he\'s made I couldn\'t care as long as it isn\'t spamming or just trying to get his post count up  in fact to stop people trying to get there post count up they should remove the post counter so people get respected by the quality input and not there post count

that\'s ridiculous - if you can come up with a good way for a computer to judge quality (besides post length) then you can make a suggestion

User ratings. Like rating a thread, only people would rate users too.

User who posts alot of rubbish: people vote badly for him.

User who posts alot of useful stuff: loads of people vote highly for him.

User who hardly posts at all but when he does it\'s alot of rubbish: nobody votes.

You get the idea. :)

I vote in favor of moogie, and her idea. (However, it may be difficult to implement)

Edit: probably, but on our forum we have cooler titles, so there was more spam, (at one time) but no one spams anymore  |with the exception of the attacker| \\/

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

I think one of the reasons people post so often is because they feel that if they get their post count up then they will regarded higher than most.  Which just isn\'t true.  Because you can reply to every post does not mean you are any better than someone who only posts every now and then but posts relevant things.
