Mouse sensitivity
« on: August 23, 2003, 10:27:13 pm »
Hi all, I just downloaded Planeshift (Windows client) and one annoying thing is the mouse sensitivity.  Now in the FAQ for this forum there is a suggestion to change it, but it doesn\'t seem to do anything.  Is this normal?  I realize this is a game in progress, but OTOH it\'s a bit silly to post an answer in a FAQ which would only apply to future versions...

Also, there is a comment line which says the mouse sensitivity setting only applies to the MSDOS version.  I don\'t really know what to make of this.

What value did you change the sensitivity to? Since posting my guides, I\'ve upped the value I use to 5. This now allows me to use the keyboard and mouse for simultaneous movement and orientation.

I tried a couple of different values (1, 5, 10, 100) but nothing changed.  What client are you using?  I\'m using Molecular Blue for Windows, v 0.2.010.

I assume mouse sensitivity is controlled by the Crystal Space engine and not PlaneShift directly, but there was no mention at all of mouse sensitivity on the CS website.  Perhaps this is yet to be implemented.

I\'m using the same version. True, the ability to control mouse sensitivity is not implemented into the game\'s setup program, but the code is there and, for me at least, works.

Well after playing some more I noticed the mouse sensitivity worked sometimes, but not always.  Some very high settings for mouse sensitivity also seem to slow the mouse down.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.  I\'ll just try to play the game :)
