Crystals
« on: September 24, 2003, 07:45:50 pm »
I am new to the whole MMORPG scene and and trying PS because 1) I am a programmer , 2) it\'s not EQ, 3) I can make a difference in the final game (suggestions and such) and the BIG reason , 4) it\'s free.  The one thing I am having a problem with is finding crystals.  I must be blind because I have only found 2 ruby crystals in 3 nights.  Now I admit I only play maybe 45 min-1 hour since I have other commitments (children and such)but are the crystals easy to find and am I just missing them?

BTW, how about adding Kenders to the game, that would be sweet.

Well, a lot of crystals are hidden under rocks (or near them), but they seem to respawn at the same places.
So if you find several of those places, you\'ll start to find more and more crystals in a shorter time.

What do you mean with kenders?

Hiya, welcome to PS.

Crystals spawn randomly around the world in pre-set locations. They can be found both in the city and underground in the dungeon and cavern system, behind objects and in dark unseen places.

The trick is to learn where crystals may appear and create a \'route\' around the world using crystal spawn points as \'checkpoints\'. I have my own little winding path into the temple and around the dungeons, then the cellar to the city, all around the city, then back to the temple to start the cycle all over again.

It may take anywhere from 1-45 minutes for a crystal to respawn in the same spot, and the type of crystal will be random. Bear in mind, however, that Rubies are always the most commonly spawning crystals. Emeralds come second, and Diamonds are extremely rare indeed.

Hope this helps somewhat, happy hunting! :)

Kenders

Have you ever read any of the Dragonlance series (Chronicles, Legends, etc.)?  Kenders are a halfling type race who are afraid of nothing because their curiosity overwhelms any effect fear would have on a normal person.  Plus they are excellent thieves, although if you call them thieves they get offended.  Here is an example:

?Closing his eyes tightly so he wouldn?t see anything Horrible he might accidentally conjure up, Tas thrust the ring over his thumb.  (At the last moment he opened his eyes, so that he wouldn?t miss seeing anything Horrible he might conjure up.??Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, Time of the Twins

Anyway, I haven\'t been anywhere but the city (especially the pub. AYE!!!) so I\'ll have to do some more exploring.

Greetings talias, unfortuantely kenders are just anouther form of halfling, and there aren\'t very many traditional races in planeshift... well elves and dwarves but thats it. And plus I believe kenders are the property of Weis & Hickman, so we\'d get sued if they were put in... unless you want to get permision from them(after getting premision from our devs first...)

Anywho, you have no doubt found there is not much in the city, and thusly not much to do, but in a few months will be a major update, and who knows, you might find some way to contribute later.

hmm, I find lots of crystals outside the city, and inside walls. (lol, another great bug which should be kept) Happy hunting.

I\'m going to start going over the dungeon with a fine toothed comb now that I know where it is.  I have no problem with the city, it\'s kind of nice to just walk around in a nice quiet realm for now, as long as PS does not turn into a loser infested freak show like EQ (PLEASE BAN online weddings).  See you online.

I\'m just making fun of it, that\'s all.  I just plan on gaining immense amounts of magical power, don\'t need to have a spouse to ask if I can kill an Orc.

Online weddings are fun, but I think people misuse them. I\'d never go in a game, meet a guy for one day and RP marry him. I usually bring along my real boyfriend and marry him instead. :)

Not that I have one anymore, as of today... :(
