If you can\'t figure that out then I don\'t see much of a reason for you to be talking with the devs...they will probably confuse you 8o

go to http://www.icechat.net
download the client
install and start program.
in bottom right corner is a server list. click add server.  put in irc.freenode.net and desired name.  anything else that is REQUIRED.

connect.  when connected put /join #planeshift

thats the dev channel, i suggest you go to a public channel

That is information on connecting to the Public Developer Channel in IRC.

Download an IRC client, like mIRC for example. When you load the program you should be asked to type your details such as nickname (it\'s been a long time since I installed IRC, so I\'m not sure about all this.) Then you need to add the server to the default list. Input the server name and channel name where appropriate and click \'Connect\'.

With any luck this should take you to the room. If you have any problems, I\'ve probably not explained the process very well and someone else should come along and offer additional help. :)

*grumbles* Took me so long to reply that I was double-beaten to it :P

Now, now, Kierne. Don\'t be mean. :D

Einxx (what an unusual name?), there is a guide on the PlaneShift site, about how to download and use the mIRC client. Link: http://www.planeshift.it/community_irc.htm

Instead of typing the server on the picture, you can type in irc.freenode.net :) (Note, when you\'re connected to the Dev channel, typing \"/server -m irc.quakenet.org\" then \"/join #planeshift\", will allow you to be connected with both the Dev channel and the Fan channel. :)
