I agree more with Keldorn --  posting the file on P2p is a bit risky.  I know that anyone can go to the site and join -- and I know that posting the software to a p2p network would boost numbers. but numbers isn\'t everything.

I guess what I mean is ...  well, there\'sless chance of people who just wnat to cause trouble in the game if the souce of the software is limited.  Of course, don\'t let this stop you from anything.  It\'s still your own decision.

What\'s the point of putting a tech demo up for download over peer to peer?

Only n00bs don't quote themselves...

i had this idea too, but i wanted to wait until CB, since most of the people that download of P2P networks aren\'t that interrested in tech-demo\'s..
I will still put CB on bittorrent(probably suprnova.org) with a good description and text file, so if anyone wants to help seeding then, it would be great.

i already had it at supernova, bout 125 people downloaded it in 2 days so that went great, i already have a help file and some other crap so that is already accounted for.

all we need is some people who want to share it when cb comes out in a few months....

CB is just as much a tech demo as MB... it just has more gameplay.. And the point is to reach out to more people...

no, MB is a pre-alpha, CB will be pre-beta, so i think it\'s more then just a tech-demo.

In my logic, CB will be alpha, if MB is pre-alpha. Betas come later.

All the releases up to the beta is pre-beta, but I don\'t think the actual names of them really matter much, maybe alpha but not really...it\'s just all demo to me :P (of course it is different for programmers)

umm.. no... it\'s still tech-demo.. it is testing, it isn\'t the real game yet, no one says it\'s going to look like CB once it progresses, so it\'s still a tech..

I can\'t be made responsible for google\'s crappy site... Also I think it\'s different what ends up first... I get Planeshift as the first hit on google and second on alltheweb...

Speaking personally, I think it is great to have the full PS download on P2P networks and bittorrent.  The regular download bandwidth costs Planeshift money and P2P is the perfect solution for this.

This is also a significant non-infringing use of P2P apps, which is the court\'s definition of when NOT to outlaw a technology, whether it is VCRs (several significant non-infringing uses) or Napster (none).  So distributing PS on those networks is a way of boosting their own right to exist.

Share away, afaic.
