Of course bards where knew for making up stories and who knows this could just be another one. It is said that the people will get stronger if injured when a bard picks up an instrument and plays it.



Benefits
Incredibly good at making poisons and antidotes
If some one kills you they lose a certain number of health depending on your level
If you buy a harp or a musical instrument peoples health will slowly regenerate.

Disadvantages
Low attack.
Slow.

Additional ideas for special types of people

Ok I know this would be a bit hard and this shouldn?t be in this thread but I cant make another thread just for this my idea is that when you die if you are a high level mage, bard or priest/monk you see death appear to you (I mean skeletal dude)

There is no classes in PS so you can\'t just say this is a bard so -2 health, some bonuses and some malus.

However, music can be a skill. There was a thread on music where some people proposed songs as alternative to musics. Of course this is far away from your ideas on bards...

You want a music skill that increase hp regen and give stats malus to peopls who kills you? Hmm... Hp Regen is a good idea but alone it\'s not enough useful to make people try to study music. And as long as PK is not allowed, giving stats malus to people that kill you is pointless.

Well if there are jobs then you coud chose bard as a job because being a bard was kind of a job also historicly it was unlcuky to kill a bard and if you did you would have bad luck for ever.

Yes, if bard is a job and if jobs gives special properties / abilities, a bard can be a really interesting job.

But still, as PK is not allowed, giving bad luck to monsters that kill bards is just pointless. And as long as bard are not warriors, there will probably never make duels (and who will send a duel invitation to a player that will give stats malus if you kill him) or arenas so they will never give bad luck to players.

A while back I proposed a planeshift bard concept. A music skill that was magical Basically a subset of spells in some of the ways that required the music skill and instruments to perform. I even came up with a planeshift mechanism for the magical effects. The music set up harmonic resonances in the crystals which had a musical effect. Crystal shards incorporated in the tuning mechanisms of instruments worked as the focal point of the magic. even sung music would require a crystal talisman or some sort to focus the resonance.

anyway that was my spin on bards in planeshift as magic users.
