Yes, it will be 2D.
Yes, it will be simple.
No, it won\'t have multiplayer.

Now start voting Story A or B so we can get started   8)

Well, I guess we can get started on the engine without a story :P

But we do need a project leader, and I vote Auran since I\'ve never done a serious programming project outside of class assignments.  Maybe once I get some more experience I can take over  :D

Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

why don\'t you just hack a Super Nintendo or Nintendo game, there are loads of rom hacking programs on the web.. it would need an emulator to play though, but it\'s much simpler to make since you only have to change the sprites and text.

Story B is good.  Oh, and I like the idea of a squishable evanchild.

heh - I find it interesting that even before Crystal Blue is released the fans are already starting to shift from the pure roleplaying spectrum...

Axsyrus, I already mentioned that the goal of this project was not the destination, but rather the journey :)

Xand will be our Project Leader. Don\'t worry I\'ll guide you all the way and you\'ll learn the ropes this way:). Okay the first step will be to get the team together and arrange a place where we can discuss and finalise the game concept and design. So do that madam project leader:).

Thanks Auran :)

Is it possible to create our own IRC channel somewhere?  Or do you have to be an admin on that server to do that?

IRC is probably the best way, since it\'s kind of a standard, and we don\'t have to force anyone to get AIM/MSN/etc.  If you\'ve got another idea I\'m open to it.

Heh! male! . Well I was kinda hoping you were a chick:(. But anywho since that wouldn\'t have made a whole lotta difference to me anyway:P we\'ll just call you \"Project Leader sir\" and be done with it:D. I am a little bit dissapointed however. \"Xandria\" the name is the kinda name I\'d figure a pretty girl would have had. Very well then........................................

I never used IRC (nor any other chat software for that matter:P) I dont have anykind of software on me that\'s similar. But you\'re the boss. Just tell me what needs to be done and i\'ll say \"Aye! Mon Capitaine\":). Though I would first suggest that our larger Ideas be mailed to each other or posted here. We\'ll go real time when we fine tune things .

BTW what platform will you guys be usin (VC6, VS.NET, Borland). I\'ll install it right away. And we\'ll use DX8 if thats fine with you ppl.

The easiest way to do it, is as I said before, with Games Factory. It\'s almost just click action. Very visual -like.

That\'s because my avatar will be quite adorable :D (and this is RP remember, anything goes...)

Ok, we\'ll use this thread for now to get the main stuff started, and we can figure out later how to do some real-time stuff.  For anyone that is interested in a great chat/instant messenging program, check out http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim/.  It supports the three that I use (AIM/MSN/Yahoo), as well as some others (ICQ), and has built-in IRC support.

Personally, I have VS.NET (I got it free from my college :D) installed, so if you have it, that would probably work best.  But I think we can keep our project at a point where if we have some VC6 people they can still contribute.

If you think DX8 would work best, that\'s great for me, but I\'ll need an explaination of how to get the libraries installed correctly.  I tried before and, well, it didn\'t quite work right  :(

And lynx_lupo, I\'m assuming you\'re not a programmer, which is why you probably don\'t understand why we\'re doing it this way  :)
