I assume English is a second language for Asraniel, but, sadly, he can spell better then someone who speaks English as their first.

Hehe, im sorry, when i remember correctly i was very stressed when i wrote this.. but yes, english is even my third language, after german and french(wich i speak both fluently) but i\'ll give my best.

And yes, i always love the idea of living weapons

I dunno if any body has played this but the roleplaying game Paladium (basically another game like D&d) had swords called rune swords. which where basically souls forged into the swords blade. They where amazing weapons and depending on whos soul was in the blade it had different effects... the only bad thing was the souls inside the older swords went insane (either through blood shed or lonlyness of being alone in a dungeon sumwhere) and tended to give u amazing fighting abailities but made u slowly go insane and loose stats on your intelligence and the like, good fun if something like that was implanted into PS
Attention all minions, attention all minions. Please procced to the cheese counter on isle 3, thank you.

in the martial arts, particularly Japanese arts like Iaijutsu and Jujutsu, weapons are considered \"alive\". Not so much in the sense that they have a spirit inside them, but that the dedication put into creating them gives them a presense of sorts....
It would be real cool in PS if weapons created by excellent smiths had this sort of thing. Perhaps the weapon would detect it\'s bearer\'s alignment, and grant or takeaway power based on that....
Weapon-making itself is very strenuous, and its believed that the more effort and soul or heart that is put into a weapon, the greater and more alive it is. Mabye smiths could sacrifice their power (mana or health or something else, i dunno exactly what) in order to create a better weapon, or even put something of their own essence into it

I doubt that any of this would be very interesting. Reminds me of waaay too many weapon-leveling gimmicks that too many crappy mmorpg\'s have.

If anything, it should just be rare, not the strongest weapon in the game, and have limits of how it will grow.

Then again, I wish there wasn\'t a strongest weapon in the game....

Also, this sorta blurs the distinction between weapon and familiar.

As a seperate \"class\" of weapon this would be a little complicated if not difficult to program.

A half-assed approach would be requiring Empathy and a high level of Sword skill to even handle such a weapon. A complicated and I think unessecary approach would be to code an entire new skill set for it. Perhaps maybe a sword that had a Spirit would be easier, it having special attributes, reflecting the type of personality it had.

i also think this \"liveing wepon\" thing would b very hard 2 implament hough if it could b done very well i wouldnt mind. i do like the idea of customizeble wepons like ading chars to the blade custom hilts ect. though i think the devs should work on advanced stuff like this when the game is up and fully running ;)
