Customizing in-game music
« on: November 29, 2003, 11:53:06 pm »
I wrote this idea in another section so I\'m copying here:

it would be a nice feature if you could choose some audio files on your hard disk for some sequences of the game, for instance you could ask the game to play \"queen - princes of the universe.ogg\" (or why not a CD track) when you start a fight against a monster.

Even better, you could set a playlist for each event in which the game would pick up randomly when needed. Of course you could still keep the original sound tracks of the game.

you can just replace the existing music file in: art/music with your own custom files..

Ok I managed to replace some soundtracks, but it looks like the game can\'t handle multiple soundtracks for every event, tweaking into the .xml file didn\'t help. I\'ll have a closer look at this later.

No, the only way (short of modifying the source code) to allow multiple tracks for an instance, would be to actually put those tracks all in one music file... although that would just be a constant play through, and not per instance.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

Honestly Davis, How many hours have you logged on Planeshift?

PS Music=great. That simple.
What I sometimes do in Diablo II is turn the music off and just play my own stuff, because Diablo II music is bad. It\'s fun fighting Diablo with Zoot Suit Riot or a Weird Al song playing. :D

And to answer your question, no idea, but probably less than Draklar and people. I mean, definately less. I think my sister might have logged on more than me. She logs on more often, but she joined later. I don\'t know, I\'m just gonna go to sleep (yes even though its only 10:30, I am tired early today. 10:30 and tired early ryhme.)

Why bother? The music is great as it is. Don\'t change it.
I log in once a day for 5 minutes. So there you go. Thats my opinion. (Like anyone cares.)
If one battle goes, another comes,
For hence that woe tide us in
in blood shed we receive
the one that killed our kin.
The burning flames, the dark shadow,
Those that change our will,
Join we will, to defeat,
the one and only Sin.

Changing the music. It might be amusing. Let\'s try it!
