What type of wealth?
« on: February 05, 2004, 04:22:37 am »
Owning a guild is important, but what type of wealth do you think a guild should work on the most, if you had to choose ONE and hence only ONE.

a.) Economic Wealth (How much money/items does the guild have.)
If you choose Ecnomic Wealth, tell us what the Economic Wealth will most likely come from?
- Making Weapons and armous
- Making Medicene
- Making Food
- Making Furniture
- Making Buildings for other guilds (Architecture)
- Making Apparel (clothes, jewelry, etc...)
- Providing Labor (Sell Mercenaries, Raiders, renegades, etc...to other guilds.)

b.) Political Wealth (How much government pursuasion does the guild have.)

c.) Territorial Wealth (How much land the guild has.)

d.) Social Wealth (How much do people like the guild and well known is your guild.)

e.) Population Wealth (How many members does the guild have.)

f.) Militarial Wealth (Does your guild have a strong military force.)

g.) Undecided (It\'s way too early to tell.)

h.) Undecided (Maybe when CB comes out I\'ll find out.)

i.) Everything (It\'s all important, its just that we need to prioritize everything, so it all flows smoothly, not weak in one area.)

i. Definitely. You can\'t just have one. If my guild is rich, but gets wiped out by another guild that had more money, then what point was there? If I had to choose one, I think I\'d choose social wealth, not because it\'s the best, but \'cause it\'s what I\'m used to.

Depends of your guild. There\'s no one rule. But it\'s true that you need a bit of everything even if depending of your goals, you may drop military power for example.

Hmmmm well I\'d say the DE is a little bit of political, a little bit military, and a little bit social.  but I\'m sure we will acquire plenty of land and wealth.

In that order.
The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

If I had a guild right now I\'d say H and A and D, not in that specific order. But I don\'t got a own a guild I belong to one, at least I don\'t have to make tough decisions as these.

my guild is a gambling guild and therefore financial wealth will be the main factor by which we can assertain our success

however

we would require a fair populace to cover ground once the world gets bigger

we would need to be socially popular cos noone is gonna gamble with someone they dont trust

we would also require an adequate military force to ensure the safety of our assets

as for land and political power, they would be usefull in providing venues for events and to have a say in rules concerning gambling (ie we may be able to persuade a government to create laws whereby we can redeem any unpaid debts without loosing our social status)
