The War for Yliakum
« on: February 10, 2004, 05:09:27 am »
(This is the story with all the guilds, that wanted to be in the story).

This story is dedicated to the Developers who devote their very life and spirit to the world of Planeshift and citizens who bring the world Planeshift to life.

Introduction:
An unknown leader from the world of Ylirun has hated his desolate world, there\'s nothing but rocks, sand, and a red sky that plagues with death everywhere. There were no women, Ylians don\'t reproduce, they are grown. They are grown by gauging out the eyeballs of their dead and planting them in Arsenic rich soil in which Arsenic can also be found in their bloodstream of their bodies in which they are grown deformed. But now the leader he now has an eye on Yliakum, doing whatever it takes showing no mercy to the people of Yliakum. Right now the leader is talking to one his lead cargo officers. They\'re next to the portal about ready to go in and so the story begins...

\"Sir the portal is ready.\"
\"Excellent, we will proceed with the plan according to schedule. In a few months the land of Yliakum will be ours, soon we will overthrow Talad, then kill all the people who dwell in that rich land. Yes, it will be a glorious time for us. Not even the puny Federation of Sovereign Yliakum can nor those pathetic little guilds that exist there can stop us. Is everything ready to go officer?\"
\"Yes sir everything is ready to go.\"
\"Good...prepare my horse at once.\"
\"Oh sir one more thing, there\'s a small village that exists near where our portal exits at, what should we do with the village?\"
\"Burn the entire village down, I want no survivors.\"

As this mysterious leader and his officer crossed through the portal there were the first of desperate Yliruns with their mutated bloodshot red eyes and pink skin with moles, hair, lumps, scars, and rashes (due to their damned enviroment and arsenic rich blood) followed and went through the portal.

As the unknown leader exited the portal, he saw the small village and started laughing evily as he started imagining slaughtering of the people there. As the last of the first wave of Yliruns exited the portal he yelled,\"My fellow Yliruns, this is the time, it is time for the dominion of Ylirun to rule Yliakum!\" He then started to head for the city with this horse running at full speed, everyone else ran following. The unknown leader already started to see the fear in the people\'s faces, as he got closer and closer, he saw the people running. As he got into the village he wielded his sword and started attacking the helpless villagers. One by one the villagers were being killed, the villagers tried to run but they were surrounded, each of them plummeted into their ground knowing death had got them. The straw huts that made this simple village were burned down by torches that lit them. As the unknown leader of Ylirun himself killed the very last villager (a young boy) he laughed and laughed. He screamed \"Muahaha, is this all the world of Yliakum has, is this how the great god of Yliakum treats his people?! Incredible!\"

Chapter 1: The first signalling of friendship
« Reply #1 on: February 10, 2004, 06:25:46 am »
The citizens and people of Yliakum finally heard of the news of what had happened. Now as the story continues the Ambassador is talking to his Assistant in the Hyldaa Plaza Town Center.

\"This is an outrage, we can\'t let them take over Yliakum! Do you propose that we just sit on our rear-ends and watch this slaughtering.\"
\"Ambassador,  Arseth Du\'arant forces are too strong. Our Federation alone can\'t do the job. We can\'t put a fight against them, if we surrender...well...maybe they\'ll spare our lives.\"
\"
The Ambassador got up and grabbed his assistance by the collar. The Ambassador said in a fierce quiet voice. \"Don\'t you ever tell me that Yliakum won\'t win.\"
The Ambassador release his assistance\'s collar and then said to him, \"What about the guilds that exist throughout Yliakum?\"
\"What about them Ambassador?\"
\"Can they help us fight Arseth Du\'arant\'s forces?\"
\"Sir!? How can you trust those nomadic tribes that-\"
\"Just answer me, will they help us fight Arseth?\"
\"If persuaded they will fight, please your making a bad decision, please don\'t trust them.\"
\"You have my orders, send our messengers to them, give them my message, that Yliakum needs our help, while they\'re doing that, I\'ll talk to the Octarchs, when they find out what\'s going to happen, they\'ll have no choice but to accept outside help.\"
\"Yes sir, understood.\"

And so the messengers were send out by Ambassador Dorin, the messengers went to the different guilds around Yliakum , all the meanwhile Arseth Du\'arant\'s forces are destroying everything village by village, time was of the essence. While the messengers tried hard to persuade all the guilds in Yliakum, only 5 of them accepted. They were the Followers of Laanx lead by Sir Kixie, The Rangers lead by Master Monketh and Master Lynx, The Shadowhand lead by Lord Errion, the Mirth guild lead by Leader Davis and the Guild of Calen Vakhar lead by Cora Aendar Callenlasse. A few days later, all the guilds met together with the Federation of Sovereign Yliakum Generals at the Hyldaa Plaza Town Center and started they meeting of how they were going to deal Arseth\'s forces.

Chapter 2: Friendship till the end
« Reply #2 on: February 11, 2004, 01:43:54 am »
As the Octarchs, Generals, and Vigesimi entered the room , the leaders from the five guilds were already there waiting patiently. They all little by little filled up the building, all of them taking seats, while the guild leaders acted calmly, through all the commotion and rumble made by the people that came in. And so the story goes on...

\"Order! Order in the room!\" Said by one of the Octarchs.\"
The room was silent, then unexpectedly, one of the Octarchs that was a Ylian strongly with a toned voice said, \"We have a problem here. A man from another world by that goes by the name Arseth Du\'arant has invaded Yliakum and is threatening to destroy us. Unfortunately our Federation Army can\'t do the job alone, that\'s why we called you guild leaders here. We need your help to stop the thwart of Arseth Du\'arants forces. Day by day more of them come through the portal and infest our lands.\" The Octarch paused for a moment of breath, and he could see the through the eyes of the guild leaders. None of them spoke. They just sat there quietly looking at him. Then the Octarch continued, \"So are you six willing to have your guilds aid us in the conquest against Arseth Du\'arant?\" Then each of the Guild leaders spoke.
\"I Leader Davis from the Guild of Mirth are willing to do our part for the greater good of Yliakum.\"
\"I Lord Errion from the Guild of Shadowhand, though you may say my guild has been aligned evil, I still must do my part to protect Yliakum, my homeworld.\"
\"I Cora Aender Callenlasse belong to the elvish race, I cannot see my own people die and suffer in the hands of a ruthless dictator, my guild will be of great assistance.\"
\"I Sir Kixie from the Followers of Laanx, will do our best to help Yliakum, if Laanx were here she should would tell us to aid you in your conquest, my guild will assist.\"
\"I Master Monketh and Master Lynx wish to help for the greater of Yliakum, we do not wish to see our lands destroyed nor our people killed, we will aid you in your conquest.\"
The Octarchs, Generals, and Vigesimi all stood up and started clapping. The room sounded like a thousand rainsticks pouring at once, the guild leaders all stood there, looking around, amazed at all the people, they hadn\'t realized there were that many people. While everyone was clapping, all the guild leaders had already started thinking about how they were going to have to get along with each other...if this was to be a successful conquest. This was going to have to be a frienship till the end.

Chapter 3: The Academy
« Reply #3 on: February 11, 2004, 06:09:05 am »
With the five guilds formed together as an alliance with the Federation of Sovereign Yliakum, they will all have to work together to stop the threat from Arseth Du\'arant. Of course problems will always occur when you least expect it...
The guild leaders traveled pretty far north to the Federation of Sovereign Yliakum Military Academy, since they had to recruit soldiers for their guilds because unfortunately their guilds didn\'t have enough men to fight. The academy was quite large, it had a big black pyramid building made of obsidian. Outlying around the build was a large park that ringed around the building.  There the leaders were shown around by Academy Headmaster Goron an old Ynnwn with a red color that\'s been faded, showing that he doesn\'t have long to live. They went inside the enormous pyramid and visited each area, one by one. They approached the first location. Headmaster Goron spoke,\"Here is our physical fighting facilities.\" It was here that they all saw a gigantic room almost like a big gymnasium. Academy students here did the physical training. They saw students in plain grey attire with protective head gear, boxing, sword fighting, shield handling, using unique martial arts hand-to-hand combat, practicing archery, among with many other weapons. The interesting thing is that they didn\'t just see Ylians, they saw a diverse variety of Yliakum inhabitants, including Kylros, Dermorians, Nolthrirs, Xachas, Dwarves, Ynwnns, and other races. And amazingly they met a Kran named Einstein and his name was Einstein because his body was made of unusually high amounts of Einsteinium. (atomic element number 99)
After seeing the that, they went to the second floor, Headmaster Goron spoke again,\"This is our magic training area.\" Here they saw students, each wearing different colors. They saw students wearing: white attire, light blue attire, dark blue attire, red attire, brown attire, and black attire. Headmaster Goron then called a student that was wearing white. The student in white ran up to them looked down at a dead baby bird he was carrying in his left hand. He took up his right hand and waved it around the dead bird, a small white light shimmered around the baby bird, the bird came back to life then the bird started flying happily. The boy than ran back with his fellow peers and started practicing his magic.
They all then left that floor and floor by floor they saw different training areas from exploring and spying to medicene and blacksmithing. The guild leaders talked a few moments together at the end of their tour in a small rest area amongst themselves, they discussed that these military students have good potential but wonder if they\'re ready to be recruiting into a fighting force. All of them agreed, they had no choice, since they knew that the longer they wait, the more death and destruction Arseth Du\'arant will bring.

Chapter 4: Time to leave home
« Reply #4 on: February 12, 2004, 02:06:03 am »
This is was a sad time for the students. They were been recruited to fight in a war even though most of them were eighteen and nineteen years of age. It was also sad to see them have their dreams shattered knowing that death was at their doorstep, not knowing what it might be like to have a family or have kids and the worst part is that most of them haven\'t even finished a third of their training, these young students had no choice, how sad. Luckily it gave them sometime to rest because Arseth Du\'arant overworked his people to hard and now they are slowing down their pace. And so the conquest for Yliakum continues...

It was early in the morning Tens and Thousands of students were lined up in the academy courtyard into 6 lines and at the end of each line were six Federation Recruiters. Each of the recruiters wrote down what the students had told them to whom show their allegiance to. The following choices were: The Followers of Laanx, The Rangers Guild, Mirth Guild, Shadowhand Guild, Calen Vakhar, or stay with the Federation of Sovereign Yliakum. The students were not dumb they knew that if they joined one of the guilds, they were most likely have a less chance of surviving but if they joined the Sovereign Federation they would most likely having head on confrontations with the enemy. It was a tough choice but it finally ended that night. As the last of the students finished choosing whom they wish to join, the rest of the students already headed to bed. It took a few more hours and into the next early next morning they counted the numbers and found out how many students signed up and for whom they joined. The Followers of Laanx had recruited 500 students (most them were animal trainers), The Mirth guild recruited 600 students (most of them were healers and users of crystal way magic), The Rangers guild had recruited 400 students (most of them were archers and rangers and hunters), The Shadowhand Guild recruited 300 students (most of them were dark way magic users), The Calen Vakhar guild recruited 100 students, and only 100 because Aendar Callenlasse\'s strict rule about only admitting pure-breed elvish citizens like Dermorians and Nolthrirs. The rest of the tens and thousands of students joined the Sovereign Federation.
In the coming week, day by day there were fewer students because all of them were shipping out. Students were leaving by Pteosaurs while most traveled by Megaras and by ships (since there was a nearby port). It was coming near the end of the week and the academy was just about empty, the six guild leaders and headmaster Goron came out to see the last of the students leave. They saw a Kran and noticed it was Einstein! Einstein yelled in a loud voice, \"Hey you flying Megara wait for me!\" The guild leaders lightly laughed at the clumsy Kran. The final Megara came but this one was had gold plating armour on it. The guild leaders knew it was their time to go as well for their young teenage students had to be trained and by the time the war was over, the young teenagers will have become mature adults knowing how to fight. The guild leaders walk away from the academy onto the Megara with a large stair-like simple machine. They all waved to Headmaster Goron without saying a word and Headmaster Goron saluted them back and the Megara took off flying into the red bluish sky as the crystal started to set. Goron saluted them as he watched the Megara fly away and he felt nostalgic, knowing that he probably wasn\'t going to be alive to see the people of Yliakum celebrate that one-day when the war would be over. He said to himself, \"everything was going to be okay.\"

Chapter 5: Battle Plans
« Reply #7 on: February 13, 2004, 02:31:49 am »
It\'s been a few months since the young students left the academy and now they were becoming hardened soldiers. The students had the knowledge but the only thing lacked now was experience. Luckily during these months the Sovereign Federation Army has been able to hold back Arseth\'s forces but at the cost of hundreds of lives and not for long. So the Octarchs, Vigesimi, and Federation Generals gave out the order to all Yliakum forces and joint battle was to be taken place in one week (which was premature because the original attack wasn\'t supposed to begin for another two weeks, but they had to push up the time schedule). So for our five guilds and one army their journey continues...
As the days passed to that first day of battle for our students that joined a guild they were studying hard, cramming, and increase in fighting practicing. The students knew that had to rushed with everything to finish as much training as they possibly could. That week zoomed by quickly for everyone, since they were all busy. Two days before the battle took place the Guilds recieved large amounts of supplies from the Sovereign Federation Supply Center. They recieved weapons, armour, rations, and medicene, and other vital supplies (because guilds naturally didn\'t have hundreds of people so they needed supplies to fight).
That night the guild leaders met in a secret location and they discussed how they were going to raid the Ylirun supply cache. The first to say anything was Errion.
\"I can get a few of my students to infiltrate the base as spies, since they learned to spy, we can then relay the information to you guys ahead of time, the rest will be waiting at a secret location of my choice.\"
Monketh said replying to Errion,\"Are they ready yet? I mean...we didn\'t have much time to train them.\"
\"Well, we can\'t be anymore ready than now, we just don\'t have the time.\" said Errion.
Then Lynx got in the coversation,\"Well we\'ll have our archers standing by just incase you need indirect cover.\" Then Monketh replied to Lynx,\"Of course but it\'ll show our position, so we\'ll fire only if needed, we want to try and avoid friendly fire and what about you Aendar?\"
Aendar said in a calm voice,\"My men will defend the escape route incase we need to retreat from the area. Sir Kixie will establish a blockade from the rear incase they try to flee.\"
Kixie then replied with enthusiasm, \"Don\'t worry my force will get the job done.\"
Davis spoke with a reassuring attitude,\"Most of my men have crystal way magic, we\'ll setup a medical camp nearby just incase.\"
The guild leaders discussed and discussed throughout the night and finally came up with a plan to attack the Ylirun supply area with the info they acquired from Federation Reconaissance.

Attack Battle Plans (sorry for low-quality the host just does that. But its still readible.)

Chapter 6: May the Spirit of Talad Shine Upon Us
« Reply #9 on: February 14, 2004, 01:16:32 am »
The day after the guild leaders discussed their battle plans they finally headed headed back to their main bases are began the preparation as the first battle as along with many others will finally begin...
It was the day of the battle and it was still nice and dark, as the Azure sun had risen yet. It was quiet and gloomy, the natural vapors from the water temperature created a misty fog throughout the land. Throughout the land of Yliakum the guilds and the federation were preparing for attack.
Before any other forces were the Shadowhand forces were there. The recovery team was located a few hundred yards away from the Ylirun supply center and small group of Shadowhand agents were just a few yards away. The Shadowhand agent team was lead by Errion himself this time, there six men in total, five agents and him. They were all in heavy makeup posing as Ylirun soldiers that got lost during battle and managed to find the supply base. Once inside they were to assassinate the officers. Once they assassinated the Ylirun officers they were then to find any documents that could possible track the whereabouts of the other Ylirun forces.
As Errion and the others got closer to the supply base a Ylirun guard came up to them...
\"Hey you six, do you have clearance to be here?\"
\"No, ughh...but...we were l-lost...du..ring..a...figh..t...a-a-an-d ...we...ne-ed...foo-d...a-nd...sh-sh-el-t-te-r.\" Said Errion in the most convincing voice he could imitate.
The guard saw them and knew they could use the medical treatment and some food so the Ylirun guard let them through. When they got through they saw the targets that were going to be hit and studied their environment closely just incase. The six agents were sent to a small building near the Medicine Supply Area and the guard told them to wait there. The guard then walked away as Errion started to make his move.
\"Okay you guys get ready to get the officers.\"
All the young agents replied to Errion with a very quiet whisper,? Yes sir.\"
As all of them moved out Errion was taking the lead making sure they weren\'t spotted (fortunately the Yliruns were still asleep) and started making their way to one of the bunkers with the Officers in it. They finally came up the southern to the Northern Bunker with the officers in it and they slowly went inside. There were high-ranking officers, so Errion decided two were going to watch the door while the three and him were to kill the officers in their sleep. So one by one the agents put their hands over the Ylirun officer\'s mouths and stabbed them in their hearts. It certainly was a quiet take down; the officers were dead before they realized it. So Errion and the three other agents started searching the bunker for intelligence and found a partial map of some of the Yliruns in the presiding region (it wasn\'t much but it was better than nothing). One of the agents watching the door said in an excited whipser,\"Someone\'s coming!\" They all froze and started to hide. As the Ylirun came in he saw the dead officers and right before he was going to yell help, the agent behind the door that was hiding came from behind, put his hand around the guard\'s neck and slit his throat, it was a close call for all of them. All of them very luckily safely escaped and got back to the recovery team and made their escape.
A few hours passed by and it was early morning and the Azure sun had already risen. The other guilds and the Federation were already moving towards the supply center. The Calen Vakhar crossed Yokohan Bridge and established a defense perimeter to defend the bridge and escape route at all costs. The Rangers were split into two teams. Half of them went with Monketh to provide indirect fire with archers from the west and Lynx from the east. The Mirth guild successfully established a medical camp a few hundred yards away incase anything unexpected happens or if casualties should happen to greatly rise. The Followers of Laanx were holding the line from the North to prevent the Yliruns from retreating, and lastly the Federation Infantry force will come up from the south and directly swarm the base. Everything was in place the battle was about to begin and one young Ynnwn was marching toward the Ylirun supply base and was in the frontline of the main Federation Infantry force and said in his head,? May the spirit of Talad shine upon us...\" The real fighting was about the begin.

Chapter 6: Battle of Battles
« Reply #11 on: February 14, 2004, 09:12:10 pm »
All the soldiers of Yliakum were down to their last seconds before the eve of battle. The smell of death was already in the air, the minds of the soldiers were on their loved ones for fear they will never see them again, it\'s war...
Thanks to Errion and his team of assassins the Yliruns now had no commanding officers at their supply base, which will cause chaos for them. Monketh\'s Rangers and Lynx\'s Rangers were in position. They were to open fire first now and clear the area as best as they can before the main attack force was to go in.
The first shot was fired; the first shot that would be the first death in the first battle of the first day of the first war. The battle had begun. Monketh\'s and Lynx Archers were heavily firing into the supply base, one by one the Yliruns were being picked off as arrows pierced them in the head, chest, or neck. Monketh told his troops,? Keep firing, keep firing, don?t\' let them out.\" Lynx told his troops,\"C\'mon! Keep firing those arrows and make sure its clear enough for the Federation Army to get in.\"
After a few minutes of firing, both of them realized they could only kill so many Yliruns from afar so they their troops to hold their fire. Which in turn was the signal for the Federation Army to move in. The Federation Army only a few yards then ran in at full speed and tried to swarm the Ylirun Supply base. When they were about to go in, a group of about 40 Ylirun archers came out from behind the walls and fired. The first few ranks of Federation soldiers dropped like flies. The rest of the soldiers just overpowered the Ylirun archers and they were killed in a mass swarm. The Federation Infantry were now in the supply base, it was chaos, everyone was scattered everywhere and fighting so it was really hard to tell what was going on. The Federation was on the offensive now and already some of the Yliruns were trying to retreat north just as expected. So Kixie and his forces saw the Yliruns and he wielded his sword and said,? We won\'t live forever fiiiiiggggghtttt!!\" Kixie and his men took the Yliruns head on and clashed.
The Calen Vakhar were defending the bridge and escape route and Aendar told his men, \"Hold your ground men anything can happen at any moment.\" Then he started scanning the area where the battle was and saw some men, but he couldn\'t tell if it was friendly or foe, so he told his men, \"Everyone! Incoming persons get ready to fight.\" Aendar look again and identified them as Ylirun. The Ylirun were so scattered they didn?t\' know where they were going. The Yliruns ran up to the Calen Vakhar Soldiers and started attacking them.
The Mirth Medical camp started receiving its first casualties by the dozens. Men were being killed and injured; the men that got to the camp were lucky since they had a chance to survive. Blood was everyone and the soldiers that were screaming due to amputation, it was horrible. Davis thought to himself, how are beings capable of doing such harm to each other?
Monketh and Lynx secondary orders from a Federation Messenger. They were to go inside the enemy Ylirun supply base and assist the Federation Army. So they did just exactly that. Monketh and Lynx moved their forces in the base and drew out their short swords and knives (since they were archers they couldn\'t carry anymore weight). All the Rangers fought hard. Lynx and Monketh met with each other near a corner of a building. They started talking to each other but could barely hear, since there was so much sound from the clashing of swords and armour and people screaming.
\"Hey, Ly-x how y-- doi-g?\"
\"W-at Monke--? I c-n\'t hea-r y-u!\"
Since they couldn\'t hear each other Monketh used his hands. He pointed to himself then he pointed to the Medicine Supply Area. This meant that he was going move the plan up the timetable and start securing the supplies. Monketh then pointed to Lynx and then pointed the Food Cache; this meant that Lynx was going to hit the Cache. Unfortunately their men were to scattered so they were both going to go at it alone. They both tapped each other on the shoulder and they were.
Lynx started running toward the Food Cache and while he was running he saw people dead, fighting each other and lying on the floor moaning in pain. Then out of nowhere a Ylirun punched Lynx in the face and Lynx fell down on his back. Lynx got up and kneed the Ylirun in the stomach and stabbed him with his knife and he started running toward the food cache. When he got in there he got inside there, there was no one in there but food supplies, he had successfully took the Food Cache. Lynx yelled for assistance and some of Monketh\'s Rangers came and help, since everyone was so scattered. Lynx now had to wait for Monketh.
Monketh was already heading toward the Medical Supply Area and on the way picked up some of Lynx\'s men to help him capture the Medical Supplies. They luckily made it through without any problems. But when they got inside there were a few Ylirun guards defending the medical supplies. So Ylirun guards started attacking Monketh and Lynx\'s men.  It was a close combat fight. Eventually Monketh\'s men were successful in taking the Medicine Supply Area, even though Monketh did a get a nice cut on his arm from of the Ylirun Guards.
The Federation and Guild forces had overrun the Supply Base. Now the only battles that were taking place were with Kixie and the Followers of Laanx, Aendar Callenlasse and the Calen Vakhar, and Davis and the Mirth Guild.

Oh, right!!! Drat. I thought I\'d actually have to do the writing, that\'s why I didn\'t add Cutting Edge. Drat again. Oh well, as they say in Ukraine, \"He who comes late, didn\'t make it in time.\" I luv that saying.
