Should i play the game???couple questions
« on: March 05, 2004, 02:52:22 am »
Ok i have a couple simple questions 1.from what i read about the game it looks like no matter what class you start out as the bonus\'s are only at first and later on you can master ALL skills...is this true?(I hope so i really love games like that)2.I\'m guessing like in most games the best class for the player that has never played the game before is warrior but once you learn more about the game then mages are more powerful...

Well Planeshift is skill based and not class based.  As your character gains experience, instead of leveling up, you level up your skills.  This is a great system because you will not be limited to a certain class.  I could say level up my spells but also level up skills in archery or fighting.

To answer your second question.  Because PS isn\'t class based there really is no way of playing a powerful or weak class.  It depends on how much you stick to certain skills.

k is there a limit though on how many times you can level and if there is is this limit at the level at which you would be tottayl maxed out in combat magic and ranged? or whatever the skills were :P heh from what i have read to it looks like playing the game right now is pretty much worthless other then having a amazing character when the real client comes out...looks like the realease date could be around 2 years...of course since there isint anything in stone yet thats just a estamate i made from the other postes i read...

Practice makes perfect.
The more you practice the skill, the better you get.
It get harder once you have more skill, to get more, so even though there is no limit, at a certain point it would be \"impossible\" to gain more skill.
And to answer your question, no, you should not play the game, not with a name like that.

The current release is a technical demonstration. You can\'t level skills, or practice your job, or kill any monsters. Details such as max level are unknown untill such things are actually implemented by the devs. We should see a simple version of this in the next release (Crystal Blue).

There is no \'release date\' per say... this game is open-source and free, and will likely never have a final version. If there ever was a final version, I would be very suprised if we saw it in as little as 2 years time... 5 years sounds more reasonable.
