GM powers implemented in Molecular Blue
« on: March 06, 2004, 03:37:40 am »
Aineko has added GM support to Molecular Blue.

There are currently 7 active GMs on the fragnetics server. If necessary, they can warn, mute, or even kick a player.

Many thanks to Aineko! Also thanks to acraig for patching and testing the server, and to Vengeance for helping set this up as well.

Current GMs are:
- Aineko
- Axsyrus
- Cad
- Kada
- Gronomist
- Moogie
- Nilaya

...and, as always, developers and admins have all these powers and more.

Its good to hear that we have some GMs in game now; but, other than Nil, none of these players are particularly active, or maybe I just don\'t notice them.

In anycase, good luck to the newly appointed GMs, may you protect us from the onslaught of the n00bs.

Yes, I am one of the 7 current GMs, wich means I have the power to kick, mute and warn players that behave bad ingame. we will not abuse these powers as the devs can take them away just as easy as they gave them to us. If you don\'t agree with the choice of GMs, don\'t start crying like whemy please :)

This was also the reason that the server had a small downtime, as Aineko\'s changes for the GM commands were server side for a large part. we already tested all commands too and everything works just like it should.

People who want to nominate people for GM can PM me.  If there is consensus, I will add them.

No nominating yourself.

Great idea to put GMs in the game, it became necessary with the number of people passing by. And it will surely prove to be a needed exercise before CB is out.

Congratulations for the good work, and thank you for trusting me.

Me? Not play anymore? Bah, I say!
I just had a Temporary Real Life Intervention for a week or two... Yes, that\'s it, yes.
Not that I claimed to be exceedingly active...

Also, to make this post seem less like spam, and now that Venge is taking nominations; what sort of GM to regular ratio are you guys going for, per any chance?  Are we going to see some extreme number like 1:10 GMs, or will it be a far more modest number like 1:100 (unless I\'m mistaken 7 slightly exceeds this ratio).

hehe :) You GM\'s here by promise to use your powers for good and not evil? If you do so in abusing your superiority you will get away with it and nothing will be said! Good luck and may the force be with you!

Fantastic work Aineko! You really should go for WTB member status, you\'ve done so much good work already. And thank you to the devs for considering these things important enough to implement in MB (something I thought would never happen), it\'s a very encouraging move.

I\'m honoured to be given this position of trust and will try to make an effort to bring my in-game activity levels back to what they once were. I guess for the moment we are just using our own common sense and judgement to mod by - do you think it\'s a good idea in the future to set some kind of standards and tolerances, so that modding has some level of consistency?

I second that... :P
---

I hope you do a good job as GM\'s, since I\'ve been experiencing \"unacceptable\" behavior the last many times I\'ve logged on, and that\'s a sad development..

Very nice Aineko. Good work. Although I\'m not on enough for this to make any difference to me, I\'m sure the GM\'s will do a great job at stopping those irritating people from...well... being irritating. :P
