That\'s not offensive, because you\'re assuming I have a reputation =)

Hmm what about being able to check what username a character belongs to?

I had an idea once, that you\'re character doesn\'t have an official name. Friends lists can use usernames instead of char names. You\'re name is whatever you tell people to call you. This is more realistic and allows you more freedom in name choosing and the ability to use aliases. I think it would make the game more interesting, more different, and more fun.

I think the idea of having chars with the same name is good, but we would have to have a thing in chat that maybe you can click a name & then it will show you the username, this would be good for ignore, lets say someone just wants to bother you for the fun of it, you hit ignore & they login to another char & start it up again. With this way you can just ignore the user name & all chars included with it, It probably will be treated as something of a last name for chars maybe?

& maybe a way to leagaly change a first name in-game (if you doen\'t like to many people with your first name)

if someone is inactive they should just be deleted from all highscore boards and guilds so you dont get those power gamers that had every stat maxed and played for 1 year then quit.

toadhead, im sure barbaric names like that would be allowed
flame foot, stone shadow, dances in ice are just a few names i have seen in strict role playing mmorpgs before

I\'m all for the surname system myself. That way people can share first names, but not be allowed the exact same full name. Much more freedom, and lessens the chance of having to check up on whether a username has been abandoned or not.

It looks like there are surnames in CB, but I don\'t know if they are keeping it unique first names only. But it would be pretty pointless to include surnames if the first name has to be unique though...

But I think it shouldn\'t simply display the whole name above your head. People shouldn\'t know your name without asking.

Yep, I agree with that Davis, very much so. Better for roleplaying in general I think. Anyway this is going slightly off topic :) The names thing has been discussed here for anyone who hasn\'t seen it.

As for the original question - auto-delete characters? I like the idea of the longer you have played the longer you get to reserve you name. Especially with this email/username deal. I think that would be an excellent all round solution.
