Has anyone ever played the Shadowrun games for SNES or the Genesis

I still have my copy of shadowrun for genesis, however, I\'ve been looking offline for a new sega...

I\'ll miss the days of sega...

*brightens up when he remembers they still make games...*

Yeah I played Shadowrun on the SNES.  An RPG set in my home town!  It was all Diablo-ish, except with guns and cyber-punkness.  I don\'t know if the Sega version was the same, there were a few games that were on both systems but pretty different.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

Tygerwilde: i posted this about 3 posts before you did :P

Still a great game, i wish someone would remake it. I think that it would could be an excellent MMORPG.  However, i think i read somewhere that MIcroshaft aquired the rights to any future games from the franchise :(

I have a PS2, a Sega Genesis back home :) and I emulate pretty much all of the old systems (SNES still rocks! ;) )

Moogie: As for FPS games, I totally agree.  I am much better using a keyboard mouse setup than with an analog stick anyday to aim.
I have both GTA 3 and GTA3:VC for the PS2 and the controls are really nice for it.  As for other games, I own FF7 & FF8 for the PC and the PSX versions are way better for controls.  But I guess its all a matter of opinion anyways :D

tygerwilde: Yup, I have shadowrun for my genesis... very cool game :)

No wories tygerwilde

An update about Shadowrun: in a recent search i made i found one apparantly abandoned game called Shadowrun 3D.  I posted a topic on his forum and asked if it was abandoned and have recieved no response in about 2 weeks and the news has not been updated since december...so if anyone else can find anything about a new Shadowrun game post it

Also, Microsoft does own the rights to any future Shadowrun games and is either keeping production of a new game very secret or they are just not making anything...

I used to have a PS1, but it died out on me while I was playing FF8.    Now I have a Dreamcast and Xbox. I have to admit, I would like to see a company replace Microsoft, but that doesn\'t mean Xbox has to be a (as mentioned in an earlier post) \"Child Killing\" system. Then again, I only have an Xbox because my computer isn\'t new enough to run most new games.  ;(  But If I had to choose b/w PC and console, I\'d probably have to choose console. :]

that isn\'t entirely fair xal... used to be I would agree with you, back when the quality of games produced for PC was better. a pc has greater capabilities, true, but the games that are being produced for PC isn\'t as high as they were back in the day. show me SSI\'s Stronghold of today, or a new quest for glory. hell, I\'d even settle for a new leisure suit larry.

games today just aren\'t up to that kind of quality, so I settle for PS2 games

a PC is not only a lamo piece of junk you discard once the developers stop producing games for it (partly because that\'ll never happen  ) as consoles are, a PC is a tool, capable of extraordinary tasks, it\'s upgradable in a much more refined way than any console too.. Every game you can get on a console, you\'re likely to find a similar game on the PC, or even the same game just with better graphics, interface and controlls..

Gamepads are purchaseable for computers if you feel to attached to your console you know

heh, I\'m not saying that PS2 is the penultimate in gaming experience, it\'s just the system that all the best games are being produced for at the time being. at one point Nintendo was producing the best games, then they went with cartridges when they could easily have used CDs, and a lot of companies went with sony. once apon a time I liked gaming on the pc, but sierra online went all \"I\'ma be a b***h and not produce any good games anymore\" and lucasarts isn\'t really that much better, so pc gaming has really gone way downhill since those days. there are still a few really good titles exclusively for the pc, but generally, it sucks

yes, the PC is very useful as a tool, and I\'d rather surf over gaming most days lately, but for gaming at the moment, PS2 is the way to go. maybe things will change with the next wave of console, or maybe gaming corporations will wise up and start producing quality games again for the pc, but until then gimme my ps2
