As long as it has a trojan horse and Eric Banner makes a Full Frontal joke I\'ll be happy.........Why\'d Eric Banner have to go into big movies he was better in sketch comedy.......*sighs*...oh well I guess thats what happens when they wave a million dollar check in your face.

I did watch Hidalgo, which looked pretty good to me (Viggo Mortgenson ;) ), but it wasn\'t as good as I thought...way too predictable. We need another good movie...

Actually call me crazy, but Im looking forward to Spiderman 2 :D /Despite my lack of interest in the superhero genre, Spiderman was a good movie. I know sequals are never as good as the original, but Spiderman 2 looks pretty good.

Spider Man has countless great stories, If the sequel sucks it wasn\'t because they couldn\'t get a good story idea.

btw there were a few cases where the sequel is better than the original, Empire Strikes Back anyone.

Ah yes the old starwars movies were great. Episode 1 was really good too IMO, but they screwed it all up with Episode 2...that was dissapointing

I saw the preview and unfortunately it gives me a bad impression of the movie. It seems like they want to have epic battles like in the LOTR but really overdo it. There is a shot where you see a ridiculous amount of ships (probably copied with the computer).
And then there is a part of a sword fight where one jumps to swirl around and hit his sword exactly where the other guy holds his shield who doesnt even have to move his shield. Such an insane action would have you killed instantly if it were real.

Maybe im wrong (i hope so) but it looks like just another hollywood movie where every sense of reality gets swept aside to have impressive fights. Fortunately they cant make many historical flaws with this movie like was done in pearl harbor and so many other movies.

But it would be fun if they would change the end to surprise us. Perhaps let the greek make a cow instead of a horse :). And have the trojans set it on fire :D
If your opponent is willing to die for his cause, he and you have the same goal set in mind.

Actually, historically, there were a huge amount of ships, maybe not as many as they made in the movie, but still... And yes the battle of Troy was not a myth

There is just a whole bunch of myth that has grown up around the Battle of Troy which makes distiguishing between fact and fiction rather hard.

btw wasn\'t there meant to be like 1000 ships which would mean that wide shot didn\'t even include all the ships......I could be wrong, I\'m not that crash hot on Ancient History.

erm The Battle of Troy is a myth, all the battles of Troy aren\'t(the believed location of Troy is a 3000year old sequence of settlements)

They have found the remains of a conquered city where Troy were supposed to be, so it may very well be so. After all, it is 3000 years ago.

The Battle of Troy is not a myth, but the story has been hyped up so the story is not very acurate historically. But there was whats her name...Helen that was kidnapped or something, and her lover went to rescue her. It was a huge battle, and the whole horse thing really did happen, Im pretty sure.

True, the only way to know this would be through scriptures that were recovered but I haven\'t heard of any being found yet?

Well I just came back from the movie (saw it opening night no less ;) ) anyway, I quite enjoyed it, and would recommend that you go see it :D

Wont say much more than that otherwise I\'ll start ruining the movie for people :P

There was a doc on Discovery the other day(sponsored by WB :)) and nothing could have been proven. Schliemann\'s Troy is still believed to be the Troy, but that\'s not certain either. THERE IS NO PROOF or evidence of The Troyan War.
And figthing over a gal is a very common motive.

So what are your references? :P
