Bunch Of Suggestions
« on: June 01, 2004, 10:18:49 pm »
hello , im kindah new here , so I thought: lets flood this forum with suggestions :P j/k :D. Anyway , here is my list of suggestions:

1. A better Psycics engine
I can walk up against walls , I can fall 50 meter without being damaged...

2. Melee Fighter , Magician , Crafter
The abbility to select a Fighter character (can use swords , armor etc.) ,

Magician (can use spell\'s , can heal him/herself and others) ,

Crafter (can make things like swords , armour , amulets etc. to suply the Fighters and Magicians , he/she can also use the items he/she makes)

3.  If you kill an animal/monster there should be an quartering option , to extract things fromt he carcas that you can sell to NPC\'s or other players or use them to craft.

4.  exchange items/money with other players (does this needs explaining?)

5.  training (each time you kill an monster , you gain experience , more HP/stamina/mana , each time you craft something you get bonusses like faster crafting and ability to craft more items)

6. respawning instead of going to a dead world (if you get killed , you just respawn at the last \"checkpoint\" with very little HP and stamina and mana)

7. auto recharging HP , mana and stamina (every second you recover 1 HP etc. can be sped up with power ups).

8. seeing the chat messages someone says above its head in a comic styly textbox (then people know faster who says what).

9. ability to buy armour / spells / swords / powerups for crafting etc. at NPC\'s shops

10. give server hosting tools to everyone if the server goes down , so they can host their own server for others...

That was it  , finaly :D Just give any comments etc.

Everything execpt 6,8 and 10 is already in the CVS.

6. That plainly sucks, we have a thought in why you should go to the death realm. ( Dunno if I\'m allowed to say that though.. :P)

8. I can\'t argue here

10.  The ps world is focused to be placed on 1 server (later 1 cluster of server around the world).
That is, 1 world, not 5143231 worlds

8 can be good only in a rather empty area with the other players in your field of view.

Let\'s say you\'re standing next to a house, and another player stands on the other side. How will you communicate with him if the house blocks the view?

And what if you stand in a very crowded place? All those chat bubbles..... No one will be able to have a normal conversation, and the fps will be pretty low.

It could be good if you could click on the name of a char that talked in the chat window and there will be something that shows you where he is (like some pigeon flying above his head and any obstacle that might block the view).

I suppose one could just grab the server code and create an own server anyway. I see benefits in having one single world, though, like all quests available to all players, etc..

You can if you change the graphics, world, rules, etc.
Otherwise it\'s illegal.

Yes, according to Art. 3 of the terms of usage it would be, unless this server would be designated \"official\" by the PS Team. Therefore, server outage can be avoided, there just wouldn\'t be \"backyard\" or \"party servers\". However I\'d not wish that anyway because my characters would then depend on the (questionable) long-term availability of these servers.

the chat bubble idea could be decent for local channel, you could have your other channels on the textbox, and chat bubbles for /say or something. and if you\'re in a large group, yes it would make sense for a lot of chat bubbles to be up, making it diffecult to \"hear\" what is being said because there\'s so much background noise.

I think where problems arise is when you\'re in a crowded situation (like, say, a bar) and there\'s so many chat bubbles that you can\'t see anything.  Another possible problem is when someone behind you is saying something.  Neither of these problems are unsolvable, but they\'d take some thinking to figure out the \'right\' way of doing things.

btw, with regards to \"busy slaughtering each other\", players killing other players will be very restricted, the focus of the \"action\" part of the game seems like it will be directed more towards the surrounding environment than the surrounding players.

You can duel players, yes, however there are no benefits of dueling as far as what I know, except that you can say you butchered that person. Anyway, like Androgos (I like blue better) said, most of those things are either implemented or useless. :)

has anyone here played city of heroes? because in COH they have chat bubbles and text at the bottom, maybe the chat bubble could be optional.....
