Nothing wrong with listing a \"level to use\" - it\'s just a general indication of how rare / difficult the ability is. I think disarm abilities would be cool (at any ability level). The proposed \"cower\" also sounds like a useful strategy, applicable to all skill levels with different results.
The ability to shoot (accurately) while running or riding would be handy for speedy ranged fighter or hunter types.
This might get tricky, but the ability to *anticipate your opponents moves* would be really neat, and would reflect the kind of experience and insight often rolled into \"XP\" scores and level (also wisdom would be relevant here). Of course, the abilty to act on such insight would have to depend on dexterity, strength, and weaponry.
Perhaps fighting in close quarters or while restrained could be a skill? Needless to say, you can\'t get a full swing of a battleaxe while in a narrow tunnel or hall (which I\'m sure will exist somewhere). Being able to use your weapons effectively in such quarters would make you much more able to explore cramped spaces.
Tracking abilities would be cool - skilled trackers could \"see\" the trail left by other creatures.
Hate to sound like I think I\'m a mod or something, but it seems really inappropriate to make \"close this thread!\" posts. If you\'re really concerned about it PM a mod, but if you think a thread sucks you can also let it slide, without being a jerk.
