FS#408 - Huge checkerboard walls next to the library
I logged in at the Magic Shop and walked to hydlaa_jayose. Here I see high walls with (colorful) checkerboard textures. They cross the house in the left corner in front of the library. Others see only a hole, and have blocked movement there (as me).

:) I just told Talad about this yesterday, confirming.

checkerboard texture like this, sometimes as clear and sometimes showing the
skydome like a window.
They stop movement.
Not sure if this is a rendering issue or a map problem. Assigning therefore to both Xordan and Talad.
I believe it’s a map problem.
Must be a map (mesh related) problem: Those walls block movement. Even if they were completely transparent: They are solid to a walking char. The unassigned texture only revealed their existance.
Talad, any progress on this issue?
I have been noticing this one everytime I walk past the library. Even if it’s not checkerboarded, looking at the houses behind those walls when they’re invisible (new building designs in SB) they appear in frame only (no walls). Like someone has only built the framework of the house. :)

This is an incidend. Depending on in which sector you logged in, and which sectors you crossed to reach the library, you either see them, or they are not present and you can walk through there (especially when you logged in next to the library).
Ah yes, I returned today from another direction, and there they were again. :(
Confirming, I have been able to see those too, but not very often. The last time was before the update to the new terrain2 maps. I don’t know if it got fixed in there meanwhile, as I am still using the old art folder from before that update as I have horrible problems with running on the new streets.
They still exist with update 0.4.01.13. Screenshots can be provided to prove it.

Can someone give a /pos so Talad knows where to teleport too?
I am not sure how useful it is to teleport to this location, because this bug is probably related to passing map loading portals, and may require walking…
Anyway - the position is not far from: 165, 0, -75 in sector hydlaa_jayose

Ligh, can you confirm this on trunk with latest maps? I never saw it before, so me not seeing it now does not mean it is fixed.
Checked with new maps. Issue remains.
It’s kinda sad, those big walls have been there since the Jayose map was first released :P
With the changes made to the library on the new hydlaa_jayose map, this issue is gone now!
