FS#527 - flaming weapon spell does not work

the spell flaming weapon has no system message once cast and can be cast on you and no target where the description says “burning any enemy on impact.”

you should not be able to cast it on yourself and should only be able to cast on a target

Changing back status to unconfirmed since there is no mentioning of somebody else confirming it and no one else has written a comment to confirm the issue.

Usually, it is good if a person different from the reporter confirms the bug.

Confirming.

When casting the spell on yourself, you get the message "Your weapon becomes covered with flames." This makes sense, as this is how the spell would work. However, the exact same message appears when you cast the spell without any target, or when you have a different character as a target.

If you cast on a different character, then your own weapon should NOT be covered with flames. To make matters worse, the character on which you cast the spell, does not get any message up at all.

Assigning to Xordan/Kayden. If the assignment is not correct, please poke back.

from  bug 622  I found some inconsistent behavior casting the spell "Flaming Weapon".

- If there is any effect at all beside the message "Your flaming weapon hurts the enemy!" Flaming Weapon last until you logout.
There is no proof that the spell does any damage, it's more like that you belief it does. ;)

- After you killed the enemy, you get the following message which makes no sense at all:
"Your attempt doesn't have any effect since Brigand doesn't have any wounds."

- Casting the spell more than once (e.g. 3x) leads into repeated messages
(10:52:22) >Your flaming weapon hurts the enemy!
(10:52:22) >Your flaming weapon hurts the enemy!
(10:52:22) >Your flaming weapon hurts the enemy!
…..
(10:52:24) >You have killed Brigand!
…..
(10:52:24) >Your attempt doesn't have any effect since Brigand doesn't have any wounds.
(10:52:24) >Your attempt doesn't have any effect since Brigand doesn't have any wounds.
(10:52:24) >Your attempt doesn't have any effect since Brigand doesn't have any wounds.

I can confirm the bug as still present like it is descibed in Caarrie's comment.

I casted it 5 times in a row and get the system messages also 5 times if I attack an enemy, though at the end of the fight the "Your attempt doesn't have…" and "Your flaming weapon hurts…" show up as pairs 5 times.

Good news. Seems to be a lot better now.
You get "Your weapon becomes covered with flames" on cast and "You burn [target] with the flames surrounding your weapon for [amount]" now :)
Problem: [amount]'s always 0.000000

Sounds as the same problem as electrotouch

It works!
CAsting it on your self or without target results in a buff showing. Casting it again says you already have cast it. WHen hitting a tefusang in the 2 seconds the spell lasted, I did 4.00 damage.
CAsting the spell with tefusang selected does nothing.
