FS#3197 - hybdr, bdoorsout: skydome and lighting problems

Most skydomes aren’t smooth, there are also “hall of mirrors” problems.

Most visible in gugrontid and hydlaa_jayose.

Update: most skydomes look ok, just the transparent tree parts in hybdr give hall of mirrors, and in bdoorsout, there may be skies from two maps overlapping.

The hall of mirrors are really bad in maps like bronzedoors now but also in Hydlaa Plaza

The made some steps forward today. The problem seems to be in the convertion program that creates the final package. It’s affecting all skydomes.

Things look better now (at least in the few maps I saw), but it seems they always have the night lighting.

hybdr (sector hybdr1) still has hall of mirror in the sky. Other skies (at least hydlaa_plaza, jayose) look ok, but possibly always dark. Setting back to assigned.

bdoorsout has some problems as well:
1. if you turn, the lighting changes at some point, possibly related to looking to the bdroad portal. It might switch from one skydome to another
2. looking up, there is a darker flat part. Again this may be due to another sector (bdoorsin): http://www.xs4all.nl/~bvdbroek/Planeshift/sky_bdoorsout.jpg

Yes, I noticed the same thing in bdroad and Hydlaa Plaza. If you turn the camera at some point the sky will “split” into one half skybox that’s from daytime and another half skybox that’s from night-time.

Hybdr looks good now. I will close this report and make a new one if the bdoors thing still happens
